Once you've unlocked the Beautify God Power happiness is a non issue. Just run it over your most populated area (even if you've already beautified the area) and your happiness meter will fill very quickly.

Can you use P2W cash shop gems to buy belief so that you can beautify? If only there was an offensive pop up to tell me. Luckily, I am not bitter.

I put a guy in the temple of doom and got one gem. One fucking gem!
I have the settlement card but I cant place a settlement because I have no belief. I cant do voyages because its bugged.
Dear 22Cans please play your game on a PC because you clearly aren't. You cant play this game because there is too much waiting. Im trying not to be a raving asshole but its really hard not to lose my shit.

I really cannot fathom how anyone could play this and not become frustrated by the mechanics; mobile or desktop.

Well obviously the frustration is required on mobile to induce gem buying but why they keep foisting all the same mechanics on us PC players is beyond me.

I hate how leashing costs belief. It makes sense game wise but with belief so precious it's just another insult.

My wife just said "your game looks really boring" and I said "it is" she said "why are you playing it" and I had no good answer. Waiting for 3k belief zzzzzz

This is killing me. The game itself at this point isn't terrible but my god the waiting. Why? George/Matthew we told you no stupidly long waits. I'm waiting 25 mins for my farming settlement to fill up. Why? It makes no sense. Is Peter so insulted from our feedback that he doesn't understand or does he just not care? Paying for this game is like paying someone to punch you in the face. It's not like you do this by accident we've told you we don't want to sit here and do nothing. If I was checking my phone in the bog at work it wouldn't matter but I'm here at home on my PC and it's pissing me off. Please introduce a hotfix to increase belief collection on PC immediately. I saw an interview with peter where he said he could update the game from a tablet well do it now. Change the tables with the abode belief collection for the love of GODUS.

I had almost the exact same exchange with my wife. She asked what I've been "playing off and on all day", and why I have been leaving it running while I do other stuff. I explained that it was an early access game in beta testing, and it took a long time to play because I had to wait for things to build up before I could continue, which is when she said it sounds boring. She mostly plays casual free to play pc games.

Think about this; the game currently doesn't go past the "bronze age" (though technically they aren't true epochs in the usual sense). The timers take longer, and things cost more, the further you "progress" in the game - so this begs teh question, what's it going to be like in the later "ages"??

The twisted vision of civilization's progression. In life, civilization has brought us increasing complexity but through the elegance of clever designs, increased convenience. Godus represents the truest form of a distorted view of this, where life begins easy and somewhat slow, but as it progresses becomes harder through unnecessary tedium and increasingly slow from the clumsiness of shoddy designs, making everything more inconvenient. From a glass half empty perspective, maybe this perception is true, but then I'd also say your glass is half empty because you're probably working some awful bureaucratic desk job where this perception of the developmental progression of civilization seems its most accurate. It's the only situation where this makes even the slightest sense to me, outside of the obvious whalehunting routine.

Wow just wow. I built a farming settlement. It holds three farmers. Now I can't build anymore fields because I don't have anymore farmers. Why? I can't get space because I don't have the belief to level stuff. I can't expand my farming settlement. I can't build buildings. It's just shit. Oh and the pathing is crap. I was trying to be positive about this but I'm just pissed off. I'm sorry but if you played this game at all you would have changed it.

Oh and from what I can see you've made settlements worse. Epic fail because they were pretty shit to start with. I'm turning the waiting simulator off because it's wasting my power.

More timers, more waiting, perhaps another settlement type with meaningless resources... Also - more stickers....

Your journey from trying to stay positive into utterly rage ballistic has been interesting to witness. I'm still not super pissed at them, because I got past that stage many months ago. I'm just super disappointed; I am a bit upset with myself for wasting money, and time, and energy into this sad excuse of a god game for more than a year.

Having been thinking about it today, the only game I play that has even CLOSE to this amount of waiting, is Plague Inc. And in that game I don't mind waiting at all!
So what's the difference?
I think tension. In Plague I have released the pathogen built to my (godly? Ha!) desires, but need to hope it is built well enough to spread far and wide before humanity detects it, and finds a cure. So I'm watching the screen, more or less on the edge of my seat, reading 'news updates' saying SuchandSuchistan has a disease outbreak and WHO officials are sending scientists to investigate, and watching the map as my little dots of red ever so slowly grind their way around the world... and if my pathogen is built right, I can then unleash the deadly mutations to wipe out humanity.
There is nothing to do in this game for looooooooooooooong periods of time, except watch numbers fluctuate, basically. And yet, the tension is high, so I don't mind.
Compare that to Godus - the tedium is high. I have followers who are boring to watch, no belief so I can't do anything 'godly'... the game actively rewards me for NOT PLAYING. sigh.
