Just wondering if anyone out there could create a map with beacon locations, maybe also other items such as temples and post it here.

Just look in the steam boards, these maps already exist - also, the beacons aren't hidden. You really can't miss them. *edit* Convenient cross-topic post. Here's a map someone made of their own homeworld. It has the entire terrain filled out. All hidden temples are visible and the beacons are at the centers of all the "circles"

What do you mean by "circles"? Circles of belief or circles of land (or something else entirely?) I'm trying to find the beacon South of the Astari Village and I'm not having much luck! Thank you!

If you look at the picture posted, you will notice how the edges of the terrain are all circular? Thats because each beacon 'unlocks' a radius around itself for you to use. This person simply filled in all the sculptable terrain. I don't know the precise location of the beacon you're looking for though. But I believe that most of the beacons there are along a coastline (don't quote me on that).

The (original) beacon south of the astari is on the hillside just before the greyed out land section basically between the set of glass blobs, about the same distance as the length of the astairville*3.
The NEW beacon, in optin weyworld, is right below astariville about 1/4 way to the old expansion point.

How do you get to the greyed out area above the astari village and to the right of the "icy" shore. There is a grey area that takes up a lot of the mountains and wraps around the right of the astari village. I have finished this world but just can't find how to open that section. Any one know if it's possible?

Not all areas can yet be reached, including that area (as far as I know). In the PC case we have had additional beacons which unlocked areas both north/north-east and south/south-east from astariville i.e. back towards the original landing point but we've not had them available since they added the astari.

Great, I have a worker stuck in the grey area to the right of the Astari village. I've done all beacons. Could do with being able to unlock all areas.

I have played this game for hours & hours ( because I have no life) and, boy, was I disappointed to learn that you can't unlock all of Homeworld via the beacons so there is nowhere to go once you've found the Astari village. All that land and I can't touch it. Oh, and I also had a follower stuck on the grey side for days! Does anyone know if this aspect of the game will change with future updates? Am I going to run into this same problem in Weyworld? Kinda feels like the game lost its' point other than a God trip.

The whole expansion beacons affair is a sad one indeed. I have no idea whether this will ever be addressed but I certainly hope so. Don't set your expectations too high though. Perhaps colin22cans could have a look at this.

Perhaps colin22cans could have a look at this. 100% agree, beacons should be looked at in the progressive world. I wouldn't care if it was all unlocked and whatever timers they wanted to enforce just existed on the temples or cards. godus.boards.net/thread/1212/watched-old-youtube-clip-godusI think if I ever do another custom map, I'll try to leave the world unlocked and the temples/cards to slow the progression. It would be better to create natural sculpting barriers, like ability to sculpt at different heights and oceans levels (+/- from sea level) , swamps or different rock types (rock/granite/ others) to slow progression via natural barriers. The other 2nd option would be the expanding influence of settlements, more people, larger the influence, not as nice as natural barriers but doable and a better mechanic than than beacons. EDIT: I also hate the fact they don't spend a little time to give a fresh map. I really don't mind a start over (it is supposed to be early access), or even if they were to add a new world via an option in the menu. I know why they won't, because they don't want to upset mobile players with a restart (as they invested gems\money). EDIT2: Best map would be randomly generated, but I don't see how they could blend all these things together. I reckon an open map and expansion by population size is the only viable option for generated maps.

Perhaps colin22cans could have a look at this. If enough people ask for it I'm sure there's something we could do It was designed in that way by the design team so that the player is lead on a path around Homeworld to the Lighthouse.
