So Peter is with a couple of yogscast people talking & playing a bit of Godus. I skipped lots of it so I might have missed interesting bits, but the two main things I picked up on are: 1) "Next week we are realising this... it's called the ark. You'll be able to get all your people to build this massive ark that you'll load everyone on to and sail to a new world" 2) Voyages are being worked on.

Why the hell is it that every time there's new information, it comes from a third party source?! They'll tell everybody but us what's going on. It wouldn't be so bad if even patch releases weren't announced first by community members before the CM's get around to it. The information from that is the sort of stuff that should be common knowledge to the people that have actually backed this project...

But inform mainstream media and personalties such as Yogscast, and leave a positive impression with those not yet aware of the reality surrounding Godus? And you might just get a few sales on your hands. ESPECIALLY when it comes down to Yogscast, their fans will take in anything that the Yogscast praises. They won't look further, they'll buy it. Only to come to their senses a week later when they realized what they bought.

Only to come to their senses a week later when they realized what they bought. Exactly. It's pretty much just SOP for this company, or perhaps just Molyneaux, specifically. Remember way back in March, how the videos at the time had him talking about the exciting new features they were totally going to add in a week or two, hubworld and commandments?!? March, dude. That's how they hyped it then. Things haven't changed. To be blunt, though I personally like Matthew and George, this company sucks just as much at communication as it always has, and it's pretty absurd. Like always, we won't know what they're working on until it's just about to be released. It's just bizarre to me when I compare it to something like KSP, which doesn't have a fleet of CMs, and has zero problem communicating what the game is, what it will be, and what is being worked on by whom. There's zero ambiguity, and it really shouldn't be difficult to achieve that. Yet here we are. Still.

It makes an unfortunate degree of sense when you recognize that the CMs are CMs and Peter apparently doesn't really know what to do with CMs, and his name alone is PR regardless of what he says. So we get this extremely awkward situation where Peter's our PR tour guide of everything to come with Godus, and our CMs are stuck somewhere in the middle talking to us about...Whatever they can...Meanwhile having something of a leash about them tugging them away from spoiling any of the PR stuff. It's what we've discussed before, 22cans is being operated less like an indie studio and more like a micro-big development studio and it's causing them all manner of problems that it seems Peter is having a hard time understanding since this is how he's operated for the past two or three decades.

I think Peter might just get a high off being in the limelight even if when everything does not goes his way and he feels bullied. That would kind of explain why he wants to do a video to always answer our questions. I have seen other companies do this as well. They want to offer a news outlet the scoop. Which I can understand if with-in minutes they they post to their community or even a heads up of "Hey we have a scoop for this site. Please check it out." posted to the community before hand so we know to look for it.

This behaviour really pisses me off. Why not have a forum post ready to go alongside Peter PR announcement. That way we get details and he gets to drop a media information nugget at the same time.

Is it just me or does this sound like hubworld? Also how will we build an ark without wood?

So does that mean if I stop believing in Godus my little people will become homeless and drown in the ocean when my ark disappears?

Nah, just that they won't get an ark and not move on to the promised lands. Killing followers? What heresy is this, why would you ever want to harm those merry little lads.

I find it somewhat hilarious and ironic that Peter lied out his arse about there being some sort of moral system already in place. OR IS THERE?!?!?!?!? Edit: Also, watch the vid... he becomes tangibly uncomfortable each time the Yogs get excited and potentially run into one of the less desirable gameplay issues or derail his narrative. I also love how he continually cheats to make the game fun for the casters. So irony. Much laughs.

Or it could be one of those "hey, you are wrong, the coding for the moral system IS there.... you just can't see it/make use of it/have it effect anything at all." 22cans specials.

Seriously, half the video's of theirs they end up cheating when they get stuck or if things slow down.

OK so what the fuck game is he talking about? Teaching people morals changing? Destroying trees causes changes the environment? I haven't watched the video because I can't be bothered (really I should be working!), but I believe one of the next bits of game they've been planning on adding is the commandments system. I can only assume that's what he's talking about re:morals. I don't know about the trees / environment thing, though. It likely has something to do w/commandments.

"Destroying trees causes changes the environment?" well that bits true, if you destroy trees and rocks, the environment has changed to have less trees and rocks.

The way he said it, it was some kind of climate change from destroying trees. I will have to go back and listen again later and transcribe it directly. The way he was talkin this was all in game and that they were playing the current steam build not a Dev build.
It makes me feel that he plays our build but has all this stuff in his head that he projects into the game. I.E. He wants the moral stuff in and has plans but it is not coded so he think "Oh if I finger of god this guy(once it is programed) my people will learn violence is the answer and they will(Once it is programed in) will attack other followers. Once I deforest this section of the world it will cause(once it is programed) the winds to pick up and it will change the currents." To me it is like he is playing a game that is half in his head half in the computer and he can not understand why we do not enjoy it as much as him.

Maybe that is why he doesn't realise the game is balls, because he is playing a game that only exists in his imagination.
