Did anyone listen to this? Interview with Jack starts at about 24 minutes in. He mentions how the documentary is likely to be out in the next "2 or 3 weeks". Here are a few extracts (I was going to transcribe the whole thing, but it wasn't really worthwhile): Jack: We've started a company called Flavourworks and we've decided to make a really cool, crazy, ambitious game which we won't say anything about until we can show it, because I don't want to say anything that might come back to bite me. That's one of the things I've learned from my experiences of the last 2 years... I've shown a couple of people. I have shown you... Interviewer: I've not seen a game like that for quite some time.. I just thought it was something incredibly special. I think it's gonna surprise a lot of people. It blends very old-school game play with new technology in a way I've not seen before... so yeah, hurry up with it basically! ... Interviewer: Is it difficult emerging from somewhere as high-profile as 22Cans and working with an individual as high-profile as Peter Molyneux- is it difficult breaking out from that shadow? The first question you were asked on this show was about your old times. Is that difficult for someone looking for a change of direction? Jack: I dunno, it's kind of exciting because you know, at 22Cans you're working to your creative director's vision, you can put so much of yourself in a game and you can put yourself out there, but if you're gonna constantly fight against someone else's vision you're gonna end up not doing your job very well and trying to serve the worst of both I suppose. And so I think for a while I was itching to go out and do things on my own instincts and go by my own flavours or whatever, and that's what we've tried to do with this. Me and Pavle got together and we brought it up with Peter and everything like that and they said "we'll support you, go out and do all this stuff, don't worry about competitors clauses or anything like this.".. We've spent a couple of months putting this together, and that's given us a demo.. it's a story game, that's what I can say. So we're putting a lot of energy into writing, solidly writing over the next few months, and then trying to pull together a lot of people towards the end of the year and maybe ship around March if we're lucky. There's a fair amount of waffling going in the interview. Skip to around the 33 minute mark to hear Jack gushing about all he's learned from PM. Edit to add: "We've started a company called Flavourworks" is a weird thing to say. The company that I think is Jack and Pavle's company in Companies House appears to have no connection to Jack or Pavle.

He mentions how the documentary is likely to be out in the next "2 or 3 weeks". We don't have a release date for it yet. Jack was in charge before he left 22cans a couple of months ago and now we're waiting for him to finish off the content. Spoiler alert - I don't think it's going to be 2 or 3 weeks away. There's still some important details we're needing to iron out that will take some time. That being said, it is in the final stages of being wrapped up and I managed to show the rest of the team on Friday. I've been personally gathering all the feedback I can get and editing accordingly. We're getting music sorted and from now on I'll be heading up the project.

Seems odd for an ex-employee to be the outsource resource for his ex-employer's output. Given uk employment law I'd suspect it might have other issues than merely being odd. I know he left rather than being made redundant but its bag of worms in employment terms.

I know he left rather than being made redundant but its bag of worms in employment terms. Is it? Nothing has been outsourced to him. He's just finishing off the parts he was involved in, that's all. We're still on good terms with Jack.

colin22cans Colin, or anybody else who can possibly answer......? I'm not asking you to tell us what the secret is, but do you think that fabs secret project will make it to release when the combat stuff is also made available for public consumption? I'm looking forward to this "story so far" video btw. I'm hoping it will give us all some further insight into the method behind 22cans madness.

We're still on good terms with Jack. Finishing off the parts.. gee like completing his period of notice prior to leaving. Here in the Midlands that typically referred to a gardening leave, which you complete so as not to infect your now ex-co-workers BEFORE you terminate your employment - not do it 6 months later after you've 'formed a new company'

Here in the Midlands that typically referred to a gardening leave, which you complete so as not to infect your now ex-co-workers BEFORE you terminate your employment - not do it 6 months later after you've 'formed a new company' I don't think there's anything dodgy about it. Making the video was clearly something Jack was passionate about, and I imagine he's more than happy to volunteer some time to continue contributing to it. The interesting part will be Jack's reaction to the final cut when the documentary is finally distributed. He has described it multiple times as being "close to the bone" and there is no precedent for 22Cans publishing anything of that nature. The nearest thing was when Konrad gave us candid information about the current state of development, and the fallout from that was horrific.

No further news on this today? We've been greatly anticipating any clues about the project fabs was working on, as we know what a talented guy he is and that his vision for Godus was pretty well aligned that of the community. I think there's acceptance that it may never make it into the game, but it would be interesting to know what it was and how far it got.

I think there's acceptance that it may never make it into the game, but it would be interesting to know what it was and how far it got. Right...No clues from me on what it exactly is. But from what I understand it wasn't totally finished before fabs left and would still need a bit of work to complete. It's something the programming team will be assessing after the combat work is done and not before. If I'm honest, I still see it coming to the game, it's just not included in the current plans and because of this I probably won't mention about it again unless asked or I until a time comes where I know it's not far off. I don't want to hype things up as they perhaps have been in the past - when we're ready to talk about things (like Annah's Combat Art Progress) I'll be sure to let people know. Sorry that this probably wasn't the answer you/ eddiemonsta looking for but I intend on keeping the honesty and continued communication going. Today, I've been prodding Konrad for details on his update, which will be available tomorrow. #colindelivers

colin22cans Thanks for that snippet. Personally, I wasn't expecting you to reveal what it was, but i am pleased to hear it hasn't been forgotten about. It was dished out to us as a teaser a couple of months back but then it seemed to be conviniently forgotten about. I do hope that in this new era of honesty and communication you will keep us updated as to what hapens with "fabs secret project" regardless of whether or not it is included in the game going forward. Once again, cheers for the info. Looking forward to tomorrow's update too.
