After spending a long time yesterday reading the Steam posts, I came to realize something. The posters there thought that the backers had knowingly back an F2P. I got a bit peeved about that and decided to ask the backers if they felt this was true or not. Most that responded agreed and said No too. But my mind was still wondering why this was the case. Then I went back there today and saw it in a post. The Mod there, G-Bird on 22cans, was leading them to believe it. Not only was he telling them we should have assumed it because of the kickstarter page, he also was never correcting them when they repeatedly said the backers were more informed about this and yet Steam buyers had no idea.
Now, I thought Matthew said no more hiding the mods but G-Bird has no come out of his cave yet and furthermore since he is a mod in both places I think he should be acknowledging it on both sites. His OPINION is nothing more than that and yet as a Mod on Steam anything he says there they take as the gospel. I have found his style to be quite bias in the past, even our beloved and MIA (boo hoo) U-Bird agreed to that. So, why is 22cans letting some Bias poster represent what the backers belief's are in this matter? I think Matthew would find happier people on both forums if we were not being somewhat pitted against each other.
G-Bird proceeds to tell them that the backer forum is more constructive and less troll-ish than Steam and it is because we were so much more informed. What the frak? I don't feel like we were more informed at all. We invested to be rewarded and yet we were told one thing and given another and then ignored. I also disagree with G-Bird. They have plenty of people that have constructive things to say and suggestions on Steam too. In the end, we are all just players of the game and to listen to the overall majority, we mostly all wanted the PC God game and ended up with what we have.

I agree that Muir seems to have developed a reputation on Steam as someone with 'inside information.' Whether or not he denies that, he needs to be more clear that what he says on Steam in no way reflects the general feeling in the backer forum.
I still read some of his posts in disbelief that anyone could so staunchly support some of the game-play elements in the beta. If he is giving the Steam users the impression that backers have blithely accepted those elements, then that needs to stop. That makes it sound like we were complicit in some kind of scam... which is how I sometimes feel to be honest. In my view, he wields his opinions there with authority, and only concedes if someone challenges him.

People on Steam think Muir has inside info because he pretends (?) that he does. He often says "I've passed this on to the devs" and "I can confirm this to be true" and suchlike as if he's directly involved with 22Cans. If he's ever called out for getting something wrong or asked for more info he quickly backpedals and says he has nothing to do with them.
I don't have access to the 22Cans forum because I'm not a backer, but I get the impression a lot of the Steam conversations get immediately written off as "flamebaiting and trolling" when there's actually a lot of really good feedback on there.

Well, I did what I could. I let it be known to all at 22cans and Steam and here. Viva full transparency. I have to wonder how Matthew is going to feel about this. He should not be happy about it if he meant everything he has been saying on both sites. I quite like some of the posters at Steam and I think the hidden backer's forum has kept many backers off it. That is one of the reason Ba'al made this place, so everyone can discuss everything openly and honestly together.

I just checked my mail and it looks like I have gone a whole month without getting an official warning from G-Bird AKA Muirdh!!! A new record. It's strange as I though this would be the month I finally got officially banned for constantly referring to him as Muirdh rather than G-Bird.
