I think we all know who they are and I think it a little sad that they hide behind a veil with the thread of expulsion for anyone who names them...

I know who two of them are. I send a PM to one of them recently saying that I knew that he/she is an augur. I received a ridiculous reply that sounded exactly like an augur.
I will not name the other one because I have respect for that one. Whoever the third one is I have no clue but I think I've only see that one rear its ugly head once or twice. That one's probably one of the devs, perhaps Sam, or maybe even Peter since he's never really around.

To be honest i havent understood the concept uf the so called augurs? Up until now i thought its just 3 people within the community who do it out of passion?

Well they didn't appoint themselves. They must have been approached by 22cans. Earlier on before they were appointed there was only a handful of people who were being positive about Godus as opposed to many people who were voicing their concerns about the direction the project was taking. They carefully handpicked two of those people and asked them if they wanted to be augurs. But there really wasn't much choice since the selection to pick from was slim. That's why it was easy to guess who was who when we were told that these augurs were people from the backer community. By the way I don't really see the point in calling them augurs. They are basically mods.

One of them admitted it to me, the other one denied it in a very unconvincingly way. The third I believe to an actual member of staff. I like the one guy, told bad he is an Augur or I would invite him here, the rest can go jump in a lake. I have had it out with them in PM and on forum boards enough times, I am bored with the futility of trying to speak to a brick wall about Big Brother, Kickstarter fraud and too much more to waste my "breath" on. The whole concept of hidden Augurs having dual personalities goes against most forum rules about straw accounts. Leave it to Godus to not only not understand that, but deny the factuality of it. If Godus staff does not like something, they either try to change the subject, out right lie, or ignore it. I just don't have respect for an organization that functions this way. 22cans should have tried their hand over here in USA as politicians, they would have fared well.

I say publish and be dammed. Why is there secrecy? They are only mods and presumably if you outed them there, they'd delete it.

Well Geminutite is Muirdh. He/she (I'm still not sure about that part) will deny it at every turn but it's sooooo obvious. Plus I have confirmation. I won't talk about Umbra'lite because I respect him. As for Aqua'zite I have no clue and I expect that is actually a 22Cans employee. Doesn't really matter because that one is never around anyway.

I really like Umbra, I am hoping at some point soon, he will make his way over here. I will leave it up to him to "out" himself. I really like his alter ego poster and I am think he is somewhat in between a rock and a hard place at this time. Come on over Umbra, it would be great to see you post freely again. I know you are being uber careful not to out yourself so you really can't say want you want in either handle there.

Geminu'tite is Muir - He has been the second 'Augur' to be appointed, via selection of Sam & Me. Auqua'zite is Azardman - He is the third 'Augur' selected, by Muir, Sam, and Me. (He has since, silently quit. Due to lack of interaction with the 22Cans Forum Community.* His own words paraphrased. The account still exists.) I, Umbra'lite, am Silvester. The first 'Augur' selected by Sam, with note from Peter. Hi I was invited by the pink font of graystone. So, here I am.

Hmmm... So all the Augurs used false ages to throw people off the scent... Clever!

All ages were based on 22 (22, 33, 44) at the creation of the a account. The location was advised to be set as 'The Internet'
Should I also tell the reason for the secrecy?

I think whatever you say is at you discretion, and you should only say things you feel comfortable with. I can only speak for myself, but I have deliberately avoided public discussion of Godus and kept myself to the backer forum (until now), and anything else I learn here I will not share outside of this forum.
I had always just assumed the 'Augur Secrecy' was just to be quirky, and give the mods a bit of anonymity in the event of negativity. (I'm sure even at that stage they wanted to prepare for worst eventualities?)

The anonymity was given, because of the possible backlash if it was known that augurs are brought in the loop. I know a lot more, and in fact, I have signed an NDA. UNLIKE the other two augurs. (Reason being, is I have access to Zendesk, the other two do not.)
The idea was that the augurs would become so close with 22Cans, that they would be able to partly, help / take over, Sams job as Community Manager. (Do not read; become employee, this all is volunteering only)
So, Sam has decided to create 'Moderator' accounts, which then He and I set out to name. We ended up with Augur, a foreteller of the future by reading patterns in the flocks of birds. Seemed to fit within Godus.
I am spinning words again Ain't I?.. Sorry. The augur accounts were created so that people would not pm the people behind the accounts with questions that they shouldnt / couldnt / wont answer. A seperation between the person that was a Backer, and the person that is the Moderator.

The separate accounts are one thing, but the secrecy of it for me was sneaky. I was a mod/admin and if people sent me a PM I could not answer, I replied , sorry I can't answer that. It is always better to open and proud to be who you are. I don't see any good the hidden aspect did except to tick off some already tweaked people. This was again a fault by 22cans, not the Augurs. I just think they did not do a good job in their PR aspect of the campaign.
People don't like to be kept in the dark, no matter whether it "for their own good" or not. I would welcome any Augur hear and any poser, but I would not want anyone to be using straw accounts because for regardless of why, you have to mislead others to it.
Sly I think you would be hard pressed to find a single poster at 22cans that would take issue with you being a Augur. It is a shame that you cannot post freely as yourself. I would also say that some of the other Augurs come off as extremists as far as their censorship is concerned and so this actually creates more problems than it solves.
Viva Transparency!

Hi I was invited by the pink font of graystone. So, here I am. Lol. He called you a pink font! You have no idea what a huge pain in the ass it is to have to change your font color all the time. I did it at the request of other posters to differentiate between myself and Stone. You can't call me pink font over here. LOL.

Lookie loo, Ba'al is now doing his moderating by moving part of our other thread. LOL. Did I hear an ironic little chuckle there Umbra? BTW, do you prefer we call you Sly or Umbra, since here you are just a lowly pion such as myself? *ducks*
