Did anyone notice the flashy badge that was unwittingly bestowed upon me?

Does anyone know if feanix and miserablesalmon are still working for 22cans? If not I can add them to the former22cansstaff group.

By the way, I moved all the threads from the top threads section back to this section and removed it. It didn't seem to be really serving a purpose.

BTW: did anyone notice I took some creative freedom with my original Godus Backer badge? I just felt like it was more appropriate.

Pretty sure Conor is still at the cannery, though I'm not 100% on that. Ehm... are you comparing Molyneux to Hitler? I'm pretty open minded but I think this may be crossing a line. I wonder the same, and agree; the Hitler card should never be used except in extreme cases of true comparison. Ah yes, Godwin's Law.

I find it a bit sad that all we have to talk about is that people are being banned on the steam forum. I've been thinking about creating a whole new forum section dedicated to The Universim parallel to the godus section. From what I've seen in their tweets it looks a lot more promising and interesting than godus at this point. Perhaps we would have some more positive discussion on the board. What do you guys think? Is anyone interested? Did any of you back the kickstarter for Universim? Is that kickstarter still running? The page is not clear on that but from their latest tweet it seems they are stiil accepting backers. I wish I had the money to back them.

An alternatives to Godus forum would be quite handy, as it would be able to offer other titles to look into for some to help forget about this whole mess like 22cans appears to want people to do but not actually remedy any problem on their own initiative, instead requiring others to do anything resembling such (such as Spiderweb prompting more community activity that could be considered "positive" than 22cans has tried in the last 6 months on Steam). It would probably alleviate some of that "buyer's remorse" as they file Godus under a category like "Oubliette" to forget about as they play much better games.
Something quite similar certainly helped several Miner Wars 2081 modders to discover the X series instead.
Plus it would be a great indication of the state of things - a Godus fan forum/site, one of the few remaining active, has more to discuss about current development of other games than the title in dev hell that inspired the creation of this forum (mainly because there's more evident development upon that title than Godus has had in the last year).

I'm not letting the banning issue go so until Dave provides proof of his accusations or an apology I'll be continuing on that front. On the universe sim question I'm keen to hear a lot more about that. Should we just make it a subforum? That way we keep the community together. Id love to know who in the community is already registered for the alpha.

My post above could be better.
I'd like to expand the purpose of this forum to encompass universe sim and be a community for its players on a equal basis with godus rather than create a stand alone forum for it.
The trick will be attracting people who are alpha backers of that game to post about how it is. The main reason most of us came here was because godus was so appallingly bad, the harsh moderation practices and the complete lack of commication. Let's hope universe sim doesn't repeat these missteps.

I backed Universim, but I haven't really been following the development much/at all. From everything I hear, it's progressing nicely, so there isn't much to worry about? Also I only backed at the beta level, so there's that. Hard to have strong opinions about it until that's released.
(the kickstarter is long over, but they might still be accepting backers / preorders on their site)

The page is not clear on that but from their latest tweet it seems they are still accepting backers. I wish I had the money to back them. I'd be interested in that, although I just can't put much time into participating in any forums right now - let alone multiple ones. As you've seen, my presence here has waned drastically these last few months, and yet it's probably the forum I am most involved with. My interest in reading and replying has dwindled, partly due to my home and work life requiring more attention and brain focus. And partly because, eh, I'm more of a simple player than a community person; I'd rather use my time to actually play the games. My involvement here was actually quite rare for me - and I think a lot of the initial potential first drew me in as a Backer, but I stuck around because of the insanity of what was/is happening controversially; I needed to see it through. But, I finally just hit that wall where I really don't care much anymore. With that said, I'd like to actually discuss games that interest me - games that are not a flaming pile of Molyneux - and that are actually worth talking about. That would be a nice change of pace; and I think that I;ve built enough of a relationship with the members here to continue being involved, even if just marginally part-time. --- I think that The Universim has moved into Pre-Order only, as per the front page of the official website, which is not too dissimilar to backing it as they have varying tiers of Pre-Order packages. They do frequent, meaningful posts about the development - which, honestly, has dragged on far longer than indicated, but it's more forgivable because they're open about it - and things are looking pretty cool. And, yes, I was an original backer of The Universim, wherein I will receive the finished DRM-free game for PC, as well as access to the exclusive Steam beta.
