Nice thanks for sharing. Interesting that all that interest hasn't translated into new members. Must be lots of people just watching and reading which is good.

Wow... I just got around to reading the newest RPS article... I take a hard line with Peter/22cans and their shenanigans... But even I think that article was a little brutal. On one hand I'm glad John took Peter to task on his indiscretions, on the other... that was just brutal. It makes you wonder if further down the road RPS will be seen as a champion for the frustrations that Molyneux fans have experienced, or a shock rag that crossed the line. I'm kinda torn. ... During the development of Godus I've seen numerous articles, interviews and statements by Peter saying that he did things wrong, that he should've listened to people who had experience in those fields and listened to his backers, supporters, fans and customers - only to ignore it each and every time. ... It's even worse, he thinks he is doing everything right and gives other People advice how they should make it like he did. Look at the "in Kickstarter you should ask for half the money you need", or "f2p has to be in the game from beginning, you have to build the game around the monetization".
And maybe he is right, because until the RPS Interview no journalist really brought him to distress. They all were happy to make their interview and to hear that he is sorry and will do everything better next time - a few weeks later he could have done business as usual.

Looking back over Godus' development, holy crap has it been absurdly glacial. It's literally barely seen any work since it hit Early Access due to the gutted overhaul done to make 2.0.

Here's an important question. What has a better story? Godus or Twilight?

Here's an important question. What has a better story? Godus or Twilight? Twilight has more emotion at least. But I think Godus has more depth.

What's funny is in both cases they involve old men preying on young girls. In GODUS we had the pedo fake multiplayer chat and in Twilight Edward is like a hundred and bella is 17 ew!

I have made some changes to the forum. It is now possible to respond directly to the 22cans announcements. The separate discussion threads for those announcements no longer exist. But fear not for I have moved all existing posts into their relevant counterparts. Apart from that I have moved the video transcripts, ratings and reviews into a new board titled Miscellaneous. Also I have created a new board titled Top Threads where I intend to move the threads worthy of being in that section. For now though I have it set to invisible as it is still empty. I'm curious as to what members thoughts are to these changes so I'm looking forward to any response.

Hi Lord Ba'al TBH I don't browse the via forum threads, I use only really use recent posts/threads, but what you have done sounds logical. Great work as usual!

If be nervous about moving top threads out of this folder as I think it gets the most eyeballs.

But this way some good threads get buried either because they are no longer on the first page or they get buried in the archive. I thought giving them a spot of their own on the front page would make them easily accessible and might give visitors an incentive to sign up.

So for some reason today I tried to load GODUS. I haven't played in about 3 months ever since my save became corrupted.
I cant load the game so I deleted all the local files and I still cant load the game. Plus AVG thinks GODUS is a virus and wants to take action against it. There are apparently other solutions like moving it between drives (mines on my D: atm because my C: is a 240GB SSD) and hunting down files outside of the main directory or whatever. Personally I think its bullshit to ask people to do these things.
I gather from the 22Cans facebook games that there are lots of examples where people have stability issues on mobile.
At what point does a game that doesn't work and doesn't have adequate support become a scam? Sure is in Early Access but its been there for 18 months. We cant continue in this way where GODUS is a buggy mess across 3 platforms, no platform gets a stable game, and all the while the development crawls along, half the time in the wrong direction. I just can't see how this can end in a good place.
How long do we have to wait for a game that works? I think Steam and Apple should pull this game. I'm not even sure what they are selling anymore.

But surely Peter Molyneux' "intention" to make Godus into a good game is more than enough? We should all understand that the primary job for a game designer is to focus on making money. And to do that you have to overpromise as to ensure that people are interested in what you claim you're trying to make. Its the thought that counts afterall, the results don't matter! Why judge this guy for his results, when his intentions are so pure... Can't we just give him a break?! Or atleast, thats how it works in his world...

I agree. It seems what is being sold is intentions and that no follow through is required and there is no deadline. In fact there isn't even a specified level of resource commitment. Crazy.
I think the state on iOS is even more concerning since there is none of the early access caveats.

You know what road is paved with good intentions?.......That and I don't buy they were good intentions since he called us bullies when we first called him on it and the press was not crawling up his bumm.

Thats the thing, people see an article that takes it out on him, and they don't read, they don't know the backstory. Effectively this is the first they hear about Godus/Peter Molyneux/22cans beyond the hyped up BS articles he has had before. So, when painted with a utopian image and suddenly confronted with the harsh reality, people can't help but respond with "It can't be THAT bad can it??" Sad but true - it IS that bad... And people are so disconnected with what they pay for that the mainstream audience would let it go aswell. Which is exactly why legal needs to catch up with tech... And stop holding its hand over corporate.
