Well frankly, a thank you wouldn't have gone amiss. I spent a couple of days playing Godus Wars through and taking the trouble to write it up, and it wasn't just for the sake of mocking it. Nobody from 22Cans has even asked for any details on the repeated crashes or whatever that you might have expected them to give a shit about. From the Steam forum discussions and how 22cans have participated in them, more effort has been spent upon dividing out "safe" topics and suppressing anything about the game outside of their narrow filters of "feedback" into an "Off-Topic" forum. From the topics it looks like they aren't that interested in that actual design of the game, which I'm fairly certain they know was crap when they released it, and only looking for free playtesting polish before the real moneymaker of a mobile release. If 22cans were truly interested in feedback, then there's been plenty of feedback outlets for them to pick from for much of the last year, including how their own forum and site are a wasteland, which gives off a really big "We don't care" vibe to anyone who might actually check out a game developer's info pages. It really looks like they're just trying to get as much attention as cheaply as possible like some of the more infamous around the industry do the same, but while also trying to keep *some* kind of resemblance towards a decent developer. Since "Godus Wars" was already out and about then it gets a bit of "free press" and established "brand presence" by Godus and Godus Wars' "release" on PC.

Maybe one of their new communication strategies is to focus exclusively on 'official' forums. They've been criticised in the past for putting too much energy into this board while ignoring the Steam community.
Which is too bad! I hate the Steam boards and have no interest in posting feedback there. Have all the previously-banned users been able to access the Godus Wars boards? I noticed Fragglerock is back.

Their forum structure just pisses me off and Colin makes no effort to enter a dialogue about anything anywhere that I can see. From the way that they have locked down the forums they only want feedback in a very narrow band.
If they want to move the relationship forward they need to make some more expansive and honest posts about their intentions to create some boundaries for constructive feedback.

That was an issue since Godus, and now look at how they have (versus how they have "not") prepared for Godus Wars. Discussing Godus Wars makes me feel like this thread should have a different name: How to PR into a smoking crater Just look at their Facebook page. That couldn't be any worse if they tried, because it looks like they have been trying. So is it positive PR if the company appears to openly desire a negative reception?

I know it's just one guy and the game just came out, so I'm not expecting anything anytime soon, ... but I really hope that game comes out for Mac or consoles.
