So 22cans appears to be in the run silent run deep mode everywhere. Although they can take time out of their day to openly mock and bait people on twitter. I Guess they needed a new realm to try and piss people off in since they are under too much scrutiny on steam? I mean WTF, whose idea of PR is this

Probably the pigeon that runs their twitter thinks its hilarious, when really, its just sad that thats the latest thing we hear from them, is them mocking someone.

Are you surprised? They've been right tossers from the start. They'll keep reaching deep down inside their tiny little minds for their simple blase remarks till the end I'd wager.

More like "22whowouldbeshitcannedfromarealstudioiftheypulledthisrubbish" right? I think we're seeing how some of that grandiose "over-promising" wasn't the real reason PM was "asked" to leave Microsoft's money-filled embrace.
After all, PM knows what is going on, as he's the one who has been directing this whole thing. So that's probably King Wanker himself on the Twitter, and if not, someone who was given his blessing to be a shitty jobsworth.
Consistency is good...right? *sighs in exasperation*
If The Fail isn't a digital mea culpa of Peter Molyneux building up a legacy and then ruining it (with microtransactions to "make him feel better" - yay gems!) then he's really missed the marketing his toadies have been writing for him.
Praesme: They aren't trying to fuck off anyone on Steam because they've already done so with a pretense of actual development, then dropped the pretense, so now it should be even obvious enough for VALVe to notice*. Now they are looking at new ways to make themselves look like shit!

I really think a release is imminent. Do you still think a release is imminent now?

It is at this point that I wonder if the whole "Combat Update" isn't some large form of "Fabs' Secret Project" of keeping as few as possible developers busy to offer the excuse of doing anything as cheaply as possible (the likely reason why the team only has former interns and new folks - 22cans successfully chased away all of the expensive people from the title's production). This is reinforced by how 22cans hasn't been taking the development behind Godus seriously at all (else they would have far more actual details of anything but playing with arrows and art swaps to share*), along with that "Fabs' Secret Project" was at one point used as a reason why the "PC version" was different than the real version on mobile, yet at this date that appears to have been just to keep Raspofabs busy and happy until he left. It is for these reasons that my vote is for "There is no Combat Update". * - "A bunch of new exciting powers and visual improvements are part of the combat update and we will begin showing them to you very shortly." *checks calendar* Any month now... As usual, more Soonus than much of anything useful from 22cans' PR department. So what does "very shortly" mean? Is it shorter than Soon™ but longer than In A Moment? Really, 22cans Time is giving challenge to Valve Time.

We should have a poll: pre Christmas, post Christmas, never. About the only thing I'm actually counting on is that we won't actually see the combat update until at least 2016.

It should be noted that CyberGrim/Martin was allowed out of his cage again to do some support today! (Though looks like it was just for a bit at the end of the business day.)
Sept 2 ~ 44 days pass ~ Oct 16 ~ 45 days pass ~ Nov 30
Days since last token update - Sept 11, featuring new (and likely designed to be more demographic-friendly) graphics for the Chinese localisation and a load of more Soonus: 80 days
Back to the OP and how this is over Praesme telling a customer to not hold their breath, to which Colin took exception to someone setting expectations of what to (not) expect from 22cans.
22cans does a well enough job of that on their own.

I honestly don't think any development's being done on this project. At best, there's probably one guy doing bug fixes for mobile and the lingering community commentary person (if not the same person). There's no evidence anything's been done in months and there was little evidence of much being done months ago. We've all heard the repeated hints of updates and assurances things were happening with nothing actually happening. I bet they got the books printed and ran out of money to actually ship them.
Try to list off enough new things to justify 8+ people working on this project for a year. It doesn't track. The whole thing smacks of a stalling tactic while the last few stragglers jump ship. I'm just curious who's going to still be around when the music finally stops. Yes, musical chairs is apropos. This is a game where there are more chairs than people and nobody's in charge of taking a chair away between rounds.

At least one book shipped. I have mine. You are the first person I've heard having gotten their book so far. Until this moment, I was certain it was smoke and mirrors. At least one thing came through this year... I stand corrected...

Maybe complaining finally got something out of them. LOL I think my bitching in the other thread about not wanting Peter signing got them to take one and ship it to me before Peter started signing them.

His LinkedIn has said that for a while. The Flavourworks scene has been pretty quiet. I signed up to the mailing list on flavourworks.co.uk months ago but nothing has been sent out to it. At the start of September Jack Tweeted that some podcasts had seen secret previews of the game and loved it, but as far as I know nothing has been announced about what it's about or anything.

I let this one sit awhile just for proof to myself that it was me. steamcommunity.com/app/232810/discussions/2/496879865902491419/Even uses the same phrase don't hold your breath. If I had posted that it would have been deleted, and I might have gotten some asinine warning. But here we have 2 weeks between the post and a reply from another user (that would have gotten actioned on if it were my reply) and then 2 more weeks till they let cybergrim out of his cage for his 45 day reviews of the steam forums. What was it I got banned for again? You have been permanently banned from all Godus discussions. You were banned by a Godus developer. Reason: "I think you've crossed the line now. Insulting behaviour, trolling, trying to derail multiple threads where a user is asking for support and arguing with a moderator/developer. Please be more considerate in the future - Please feel free to dispute this here on Steam with the moderators and developers. An apology may remove the permanent ban." Oh right I got banned for calling them out on treating me differently than they do other complainers. Look more proof of the hypocrisy of 22cans and my spurious ban. I was treated differently, as continues to be evidenced by the forums. Getting rid of me didn't seem to change the tone of the forums at all, in fact now that I am not voicing displeasure many more people are chiming in. You guys should ban everyone else who is making noise too or be hypocrites... Your squelch it plan was never working, staying the course even harder is just more PR fail from a company that is sooooooooooo good at failing it should be in the name. 22cants, 22fails, 22cons, whichever you choose Can should never be in your name the only thing you can seem to do is fuck up. Spiderweb put out more content this year than you have.... Where is my apology, I certainly feel owed... I expect I will get an apology 5 minutes after we get a Jupiter sized world.
