Looks like savvy users are already wise to this "trick" since it was used to better effect of review tampering a while back, and so it appears to have the opposite results than those usually intended:
Godus: 33%
Godus Wars: 40% (About an hour ago.) Godus Wars: 31%
This even includes... Muir's review: 38 of 135 people (28%) found this review helpful
8 people found this review funny

Muir also deleted all the comments on his review regarding peoples opinion that he was basically acting as a brazen company shill. classic. I've been watching that. Lovely PR strategy. Oh, Godus Wars is now at 27%. I wonder if "brazen company shill" might be for some of the reasons why...

It makes you wonder, just how many do-overs 22cans is going to demand/ask/beg for until they finally realize that they are doing this to themselves.
"Gabe! Gabe!!! Look at all these meanies! Delete their reviews!!! Because words!!! Gabe! gabe? hello?"
Not even Steam is going to put up with this kind of community abuse for long.
Maybe Godus will change the world, by showing it what not to do.

This has to be the fastest time a game has hit "mostly negative" reviews on Steam since the last time Digital Homicide released a game...

This has to be the fastest time a game has hit "mostly negative" reviews on Steam since the last time Digital Homicide released a game... Hahahaha, so true. @undeadoverpromise - After having it pointed out that having "disclaimer" on the third line is what is counted as a "buried disclaimer" (as in NOT clearly marked at the beginning or end of a statement)...does the review not show up at all, but is counted. Only 6 of the positive reviews now show up for the 11/39 reviews. I wonder if it has occurred to 22cans that VALVe knows about many other forms of review tampering that making a new game is extremely old news and...doesn't work anymore. VALVe were probably already aware of this and smirkingly handed out another distro number to 22cans, and beat us all by having the popcorn already popped for the release date: If I had to deal with a bunch of scummy developers of the likes of Digital Homicide and 22cans causing more work for my distro service - as 22cans kept pushing the buck of refunds onto "Steam Support" as long as abusively possible - I'd do the same.

I assume that means you had to click on his review to see the disclaimer?

I assume that means you had to click on his review to see the disclaimer? Nope - in some places a disclaimer is counted as hidden or "buried" if it isn't prominently posted at the beginning or end of the article it applies to. Such is hugely desired for review caveats, as provisional recommends/do not recommends along with disclosing any association with VALVe or the developer of the product being reviewed.

The whole situation might not be entirely fair or totally representative of Godus Wars as a standalone, but considering everything that happened in the last 4 years they deserve this reaction.
Yet they got smacked down so fast with the negative reviews that I almost feel sorry for people like Kondrad who tried to develop this. Getting a "mostly negative" this early is pretty much a death sentence for any EA game in my opinion. I'm not saying that I enjoy Godus Wars, because it's very simplistic, underwhelming for an RTS, reminds me more of an ipad game and it doesn't even come close to satisfying my god game genre needs, but there have been far worse EA games released on Steam.
But again, it would be unfair towards the original backers if this thing got positive reviews. I'm still a bit torn though. It's quite obvious that the whole thing is little more than a ploy to circumvent the failure of original Godus promises, yet it's clear that some effort has been put into this.

The whole situation might not be entirely fair or totally representative of Godus Wars as a standalone, but considering everything that happened in the last 4 years they deserve this reaction. The delivery, if they were not looking for this kind of reaction, should be an example of what not to do: Provides a public narrative that only makes it look as if 22cans aren't taking development seriously for months. Claim to PC users that they are still working on the game using feedback. Claim to the mobile audience that more content is being worked on. Go silent for months at a time. Prove that they weren't taking their overall feedback seriously by updating one Early Access title to another in hopes of resetting the review scores and escaping the legacy of the forums, for how they snubbed their community/backers/customers in both Kickstarter and Early Access ALREADY... The "new" title crateres spectacularly. You couldn't have asked for better instant karma for such a PR nightmare. I feel for Konrad in that his work might have been subverted and left bereft of what even he utilised for a while here - public feedback. 22cans stifled the feedback about what really needed to be done with the game into this sudden vision Peter's had since the start - lovely obvious arsepull, Peter. Given how this has turned out, and with the timing of why some screens were moved from the Twitch channel, then the channel stopped, Godus Wars was indeed one of those things planned out nearly from The Shit. I'm not. If Konrad's still about his original ideals then he could simply look at the brain trust responsible for this delivery with an 'I told you so' expression. I cannot seriously believe that Konrad would suggest a completely new title would somehow cut the mustard, pass muster, etc. with those already expecting reform from Early Access. Perhaps someone might have convinced him to agree upon it based upon "a new review slate" and "it might be judged upon its own efforts" or maybe even "to show the unfairness of the Steam review system" (oh, that part is what Peter will say in a "not speaking to the press" interview later on), but I cannot believe that he could come up with a solution to an Early Access mistake is to shit the bed even harder. This has Simon and Colin written all over it.

tikigod : As I was writing that up... it now appears that 22cans has dipped into the pool of review tampering.*sighs* Well then...looks like they didn't want Godus Wars up on Steam for that long.

No heads-up or notification directly from Valve, just this on my review when I go to view it: Thefuck? What's even the point? Or are they just experimenting with ways to remove negative reviews? Brought up that because Godus is included in Godus Wars that posting reviews about Godus and 22Cans conduct isn't Off-topic and 22Cans need to stop flagging reviews as off-topic for that reason immediately, El presidente for life señor Bacon (AKA Colin) piped in with: Then quickly locking the thread before any post could be made to point out "We wrote otherwise in the FAQ" isn't grounds to treat any differing opinion as 'off-topic' and wrong so in need of Valve moderation. steamcommunity.com/app/422420/discussions/3/405690850600269998/
