I would do it myself but I have no idea what Genesis is going to look like. Unfortunately we have had a few set backs due to another project being pushed forward ahead of its due date but I spoke with Echo and he is on the case. When he sets up a logo and a banner I would be happy for you to have a look. If you want to play around with a few ideas I think it would be awesome! This sort of sounds like an invite to the community to come up with concepts and ideas for a Genesis logo and/or forum banner. Is it? If so, are you guys 100% set on the name of the project yet? Last time I spoke to echocdelta there appeared to be some semblance of uncertainty.

The name Genesis is a production title and not final. However, for the time being, calling the project Genesis VR is totally fine, although it might be a bit hard to get out of the habit of calling the game Genesis VR.
There are a few reasons for this, but the two key ones are the fact that there are companies out there already called Genesis VR, and also we don't want to be too Judeo-Christian centric. The team is looking for an alternative name. If you have ideas, would love to hear it!

Is the game meant to be based on Earth or a fictional planet in our universe, or a fictional planet in a fictional universe? Also what time period is the game to be based around? Is it a set one in a time similar to ours, way in the past, the future, or one that varies from time to time? I ask because this could help to spur up some creative juices from posters as to some suggestions for names for the game. It is a shame you can't use Genesis, I not only think about a biblical connotation but also a Star Trek one when I hear the name, so I understand why, but still a really cool name. If it was about Earth you could do something like "ESO" for "Earth Square One". If you name your fictional planet Qeteshia ( ) you could call if QSO and so on and son on....

Would "Through God's Eyes" work as a title? In all seriousness we are trying to find a name for it, you are all welcome to help. One of the names were were tossing around was Paper God VR for example but we have settled on none yet. Feel free to make up a list!

Fantastic Question Qetesh! This will have to be something echocdelta will have to get back to you on, He knows the project better then anyone and I am sure he will be able to answer what universe this is set in. Cool names by the way, would love to see a list!

I suppose the name really depends on the tone you want your game to take. I can think of a few cheeky titles that would befit a game like Rock of Ages (think Marble Run + Monty Python) I can think of a few that are more mysterious and open-ended like From Dust. If this does get split to the suggestion page I'd love pitch in some ideas.

Go-dust Obviously you'd want absolutely nothing to connect you to Godus but if I remade Godus that would be the name I'd choose as a direct poke at them.

In my mind, the name 'Genesis' brings up two images; the Sega Genesis, and the recent movie 'Terminator: Genisys' (terrible title). I suppose these come to my mind first because, A) I'm a huge geek, and B) they're closer in context, with regards to gaming, than is the Bible. So, in my opinion despite it making sense as a "god game", the name is just too similar to existing IPs and should avoid confusion or likened comparisons.

Okay guys, I know the temptation is great to come up with puns related to Godus, but somehow I don't think the guys at Opaque will appreciate that too much. (although I do like Go-Dust )

My top choices from what I came up with are: Hand(s) of god - Hand of god is a game, but hands of god looks free. Hands of the gods (A more multiplayer type name) this looks free.
Some other ideas: Guidance Dang I had some other ideas that vanished once I sat down in front of the computer.

Not to mention Phil Collins' band. There's also Star Trek, where there are multiple uses of 'Genesis'; Poject Genesis, The Genesis Wave, an episode called Genesis, a fan film called Star Trek: Genesis, one of the movies was Nemesis (close enough). Gene Roddenberry even pitched a series in the 60's called Genesis II. That's a bit of over-saturation.

(I know, it's a pun on godus, I'm bad)
