I was just informed by colin22cans that as of last Tuesday, the same day the people at Lionhead were let go, Colin was made redundant at 22cans. So farewell Colin. I wish you the best and hope you'll find something better.

Sorry to hear it, Colin. It's not a surprise given 22Cans' approach to PR (it doesn't appear to be much of a concept at that company) but nevertheless a shitty situation to find yourself in. I'm sure you'll find more rewarding opportunities elsewhere.

Talk about a surprise. Hope it wasn't as much of a surprise for you as it was for us Colin, there's little more inconvenient than having matters you rely on slip between your fingers.
Nevertheless, as Crumpy mentioned, you're very likely to find more promising circumstances elsewhere. Honestly I'm rather surprised you've hung in as long as you have, but it does seem to suggest that your replacements, should there be any, will be there an even shorter time than you were.
Seems the 22cans' public face contracts are getting written up to be ever briefer, after all. May be wrong on that, though.

Redundancy is something I wish on nobody. GODUS is an awful that makes people feel like shit, perhaps it is time we all just moved on.

I wouldn't have thought there will be a replacement. Maybe at best we'll get one of the QA or support guys (are there still support guys, even?) temporarily given a CM badge, but we've not had a CM or any community presence at all from 22Cans for so many months now, I can't see why they'd bother.
Who knows what's going on with The Trail. You'd want a PR guy around for the release of that! If they're taking cost-cutting measures at this stage maybe they're in trouble.

Huh, makes me wonder if it was less of a redundancy and more of an outsourcing. In any case, Good luck Colin.

Farewell Colin. At least you weren't responsible for banning half the Steam forums, so I guess you'll just be remembered for being a jerk in general.

Maybe they'll sell the Trail to a publisher removing the need for PR since the publisher will take care of all that.

Just another in the revolving door of 22Cans PR/CM guys, really. I don't know who at the studio was responsible for the latest communication blackout, but it seems unlikely that it would be the PR guy's idea (for obvious reasons). Unless 22Cans was handling a deluge of media requests requests behind the scenes, Colin can't have had much to do in the last 6 months. Even the release of Godus Wars can't have kept him busy for more than a week.

Good riddance. He didn't add anything. He didn't fix or rectify anything. In fact. He managed to make things worse.

The radio silence is a norm at 22cans, so no surprise there, but I'm pretty sure Colin was just trolling half the time when he posted something, or he just genuinely thought we're stupid. Definitely the most irritating door pane so far.

Seems like this last bit of news must have really had an effect community. Thing have been really quiet around here, too.

Seems like this last bit of news must have really had an effect community. Thing have been really quiet around here, too. I think 22cans have for a long time been running a strategy of depriving the community of information on which we could comment which suppresses the discussion. If they provided any future plans we could have a great time complaining about these which is why they don't. I also think that GODUS Wars underperformed in terms of what they hoped to get financially. That could spell the end of development on GODUS/GODUS Wars. I've also been very busy following the US election which has crowded out some of my other hobbies.

Going to be interesting to see if they even release the "trail" I reckon there may of been other team reductions at the same time as Colin!

I think it is likely that there will be no further development on godus at all and that the team has already been disbanded.
Things sure are quiet. I am on holiday at the moment so not spending a lot of time around here myself. I hope things around the Genesis project pick up and revive the board.

Seems like this last bit of news must have really had an effect community. Thing have been really quiet around here, too. Unrelated, I think. Colin's leaving has had next to no effect, other than there is now literally no one responding to people giving feedback and asking for Tech Support. Interesting how he 'liked' militairensneuvelen's post in this thread! His admission that he screwed up? Or just trollling the community again, which I guess he might as well now that he doesn't work at 22Cans anymore. I think the inactivity is because there isn't much to talk about right now. Godus Wars is rubbish and is probably a financial flop. It's impossible to tell how resources at 22Cans have been divided between Godus Wars and The Trail, or how many people are even left at the studio. Are we likely to see any further updates to Godus or Godus Wars? I would be completely unsurprised if both were abandoned. They seem to have given up on Godus anyway, and Godus Wars can't be bringing in much revenue.

No redundant means no longer required which is the opposite of replacement.
