I was directly involved in the development of 3 of those games. Ah, good times. ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

Zork GI/N and Interstate 76/82 Now I have a weird urge to go play Full Throttle. Edit: for nostalgia

I did QA, with some "undocumented" art design work.

Before buying new digital copies from GoG, I'm testing trying to install and play some of my older PC games in Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode - like Arcanum and Betrayal at Krondor - ... so far I can install most, but haven't got them to run yet. :/

No, not yet. I installed 4 games from cd/dvd into virtual windows xp mode, but none would run. I dunno if they need patches or not, but it was getting too times consuming for me to bother. Odd thing is, I read in GoG forums people having issues running the GoG versions on Win7 too. Anyone here tried any?

But it is possible. I've managed to install some really old pc games on a virtual pc and run them. Usually it works. You have to put in the time to find the proper settings and/or patches though.

(At least, it looks that way, and the team were an offshoot of Interplay...) so I hope at some point GOG get round to releasing one of their nicely packaged multiplatform versions. Having Fallout, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment (and many more) packaged up in convenient OS X apps is one reason I love gog so much!

Yeah, and if this were a few years ago I'd put in more time to figure it out. But, unfortunately I just can't spare the mental capacity or energy, or my time and patience these days. I made a good effort, though, devoting quite a bit of time on it already - but it wasn't meant to be. So I forked over some cash for the digital versions (and managed a couple extra hours at work to justify the expenditure). I would have preferred not to purchase something I aleady own, but feel this was the best option for me; plus it also means supporting GoG and the game originators.

I guess it's a bit like buying the bluray of a movie you already own on dvd. Or like buying the dvd of a movie you already had on dvd.

Mm, some decent/good games in there. The Stalker series is fantastic for an open world, atmospheric FPS with some very light RPGish elements (getting better equipment, think there's hunger too?). Sin Gold from what I've read is a fun first-person run and gun game. Strike Suit Zero is a pretty slick arcadey space shoot'em up with the great switch of being able to transform into a friggin' robot death machine. Luftrausers is an interesting arcadey 2D shoot'em up in aircraft with some rather unique differing loadouts you can choose to fly with. Tower of Guns is a great twitchy first-person run and gun game with an amusing array of absurd stories "explaining" what you're doing in the tower in the first place. Can't speak too much for the other ones. Postal's pretty widely known as the over the top smash/shoot everything with a little of everything simulator.
