Has anyone actually got populous to work? I tried it a while ago and it didn't have ability to save or go to a level based on code so all you could really play for the first few levels.

I missed that sale, mostly because I had to go to work, but also because I hadn't got my paycheck yet. But, since then, I've picked up a few great titles. Between Steam, GoG, Desura, Blizzard, Ouya, Amazon, and Origin, not counting console game and PC games I've owned for years - I have more than enough games to play well into retirement. lol.

I haven't seen anything on GoG so far - their stuff is generally so cheap anyway I just buy it when it pops up.
Steam on the other hand, I've bought Skyrim complete and Anno 2070 complete for some ridiculously low price, and I *still* haven't finished Dragon Age Origins or heck, even Neverwinter Nights Diamond which I got on GoG cheap a while back.
And then there's Minecraft...and Warlords of Draenor is out later this year.
Yep, not going to run out of games any time soon.

I just dropped a minute fortune for a grand assortment of pixel rpg games that I never played back in the day. For anybody that likes old skool rpg goodness, grab them GOG titles while they’re so deeply discounted. I’ve purchased so many new/old games that I’ll be busy for years (no exaggeration).
Heh, I finally found something surprisingly positive to say on these boards. Even so, effing-eff Peter’s evil Godus bovine crudness.

Pre-3d games like Fallout and Fallout 2. No, these games are no longer available on GOG but other examples include Planescape: Torment, the Baldur’s Gate series and Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.
Have a look and check online references. Can't hurt, and see what tickles your fancy.
I’m beginning to feel like a cheap shill here. . .

GOG is having another sale this weekend. Daedalic and Telltale adventure games up to 90% off. I know a lot of you have a huge backlog of games you need to wrestle through, but it might be worth it to spend $3.49 on the Tales of Monkey Island for example. (all 5 episodes together) Or all 5 episodes of Back to the Future for only $2.49. Personally I think the Monkey Island series is more enjoyable than the BTTF though. Sam & Max is on sale as well but as separate games for separate payments. Here's a linkylink.

Awesome, I highly recommend getting them if you enjoy point-&-click adventure games. I picked up the Monkey Island pack during the summer sale on GoG, and have had Back to the Future on Steam for a few years now. Seriously thinking about grabbing the Sam & Max games -I loved the original 90's game Sam & Max Hit the Road- though the modern 3D animation holds me back; something about 3D animated P&C adventures just doesn't feel right to me.

Im a huge TellTale fan since their first Sam & Max episodic game. I loved BTTF but I've always been a huge BTTF fan in general. The monkey island ones were good too, but nothing beats the original Lucas Arts versions (including Sam & Max too).
for p&c fans I also highly recommend The Last Door - the most atmosphere with the least pixels!
I've been enjoying Divinity: Original Sin lately, for some old fashion RPG action with great depth and story.

But I like old school games so the old style would be fine with me. I don't mind it too much in the Back to the Future series, tho it initially felt a bit unusual - of course the characters are familiar and very well done (despite some odd, awkward movements and clipping here and there) so that helped. For some reason the 3D versions of Sam & Max just doesn't jive with me; Perhaps it's because I'm use to them as cartoons, unlike BTTF, and therefor seem out of place in 3D?

There are yet more games on sale on GOG. Including Sensible Soccer 2006. I never even knew it existed, go figure. Not made by Sensible Software though.

I already have most of these, but keep going back and forth on Syndicate titles; while I have good memories of playing, I also remember all the bugs and pathfinding issues they had. :/
One thing I enjoy on GoG is going through the Community Wishlist forum and seeing what titles are popular, and what titles people suggest that I'd love to see available. Right now both the Dune series and the original Warcraft series are popular requests.
