I actually backed that game on Kickstarter, but only at the game reward level - no beta access - so I'm pretty stoked to play it. So far I've heard all good things, but I probably still wouldn't pay that much if I hadn't backed it. Actually, I'm kinda bummed that my reward is only the Hero Edition version - if the game is any good I'll probably upgrade to one of the other editions.

Look what GoG is working on doing now, it's pretty awesome.
They currently have only a very few games on the list, however, I'm sure that in time they will have a fair number of great titles to choose from.

Oddly enough, I have never played them - which is odd because I love LEGO and games. They just look too... gamey? I'd rather build with LEGO, which apparently really isn't part of those games.

They are actually quite fun. I had a wii, and actually played 2 player with my wife who also enjoyed them. I actually found them mildly amusing. The game themed on films etc made them have more appeal. but I must admit to never playing them on the PC.

The beta has launched for GOG Galaxy today. Very interested to see how it does. From a games industry perspective, I think it's unhealthy for Steam to continue to enjoy such a competition free market. I know there's the likes of Origin and similar platforms, but these are from specific publishers with very specific agendas. GOG Galaxy has the potential to actually inject some healthy competition into things. That's why, despite preferring Xbox One (don't hate), I was over the moon whenever Xbox One was playing second fiddle to Playstation 4 at launch. The fierce competition led to some great improvements to both systems in an effort to outdo the other. One way or another, healthy competition always benefits the gamers. Keeping my finger's crossed for GOG! Additional reading...

Let's hope they don't get too big for their britches like others before them have.

I got my Beta access! Downloaded and installed it tonight, and plan to give it a whirl this weekend.
PS. I found it rather humorous that I used the GoG Downloader to download it.

Let us know what you think. so far it looks fantastic. They did take a lot of cues from both Steam and Origin, however, while remaining simple and intuitive. Oh, and the software version rollback looks interesting; going to have to test that. I currently only have Banished and Zak McKracken installed atm, fron before, although I think I'll test installing more for the Beta sake. Of note: I really like that it scans and detects previous GoG installs. I believe they intend to allow downloads and installs without the Galaxy client, because of their awesome policies like "DRM free" and "You own your games for life" but that remains to be seen in due time.

Yes it looks really great and they said it's totally optional. You don't have to use it and you are allowed to download your games like before, from the website or you can download the game installer through the galxy client to save it on your hdd.

So far GoG Galaxy works as advertised. It'll be interesting to see how it develops.

Also, it has shown its first its special features for the first time: Withcher 3 preload is now available through Galaxy and it works good (as opposed to 7 parts of the installation file for direct download), especially with that interface.
Also, EULA of the Witcher recommends GOG Galaxy (yup, they said Galaxy) account, which means achievements tracking and even possible multiplayer.
