If you want a goofier Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius is a pretty good buy. It can get a little dull at times, but the soundtrack's smooth and stylish and nothing says evil like sending minions out to club baby seals or blending people to torture them.
If you're into third-person shooters and want a hidden gem of sorts, Rogue Trooper's pretty solid and had some of the covershooting ideas of Gears of Wars at almost the same time as it came out in a weird sort of convergent design thinking. However, unlike Gears of War, your equipment's extremely versatile, leading to some interesting ways to approach situations in the game.
Empire Earth 1 is a fantastically bizarre and ambitious game. It's a RTS that follows the ages of history, but unlike those that stick to loose realism, it decided to run with some more fantastic powers in the early game through faith and high tech advances in the late game. Early on and even into the late game you can cast down divine disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and plagues upon your enemy unless they maintain a religious infrastructure, but in the late game you can descend upon your enemy with laser-blasting robots and a variety of other high tech oddities that I can't recall.
If you're down for some somewhat lengthy and drawn out fights, you can't go wrong with Empire Earth 1, it's a great game to play via LAN, but online is no longer supported (for now, who knows, GOG may revive it somehow eventually).

Oh dear. I may have to donate some blood plasma... You get money for that over there? Yup, they have clinics just for plasma. Different than donating blood, tho, which is not compensated.

Anyone else into scifi sub combat? I came across the sequel to Archimedean Dynasty years ago, and reading about it in the crazy dense manual made me sort of more excited for it than the game I'd just gotten ( Aquanox, for those unfamiliar). I've never played it before and was somewhat convinced it was abandonware at this point, so I was really happy to see that GOG had dredged it up from the depths. Any of you ever play it awhile back?

Nope, never tried that type of genre. I'll take a look out of curiosity since you mentioned it.

Nope, never tried that type of genre. I'll take a look out of curiosity since you mentioned it. It's essentially like flight or space sims, just underwater. However, that difference in setting makes a huge difference, I've always felt, given some of the interesting challenges underwater civilization would present.

I think the last submarine game I ever played was probably Silent Service, because my uncle had it. That's the same place I was introduced to adventure games. Oddly enough, I eventually joined the Navy and use to repair subs. But I prefer the adventure games over flight/driving sim games. Lol.
