I'm curious how many people are playing the new update or waiting (for the balance editor, for the game to be fun) or just given up.
Personally, after seeing how long the ark would take (especially after destroying my civilization out of spite after losing the battle to the Astari) I'm waiting for either the balance editor or, y'know, 22cans to address the pacing themselves.

If it hadn't crashed so quickly, I'd still be looking over the map as my followers built along the coast. Instead I'm kind of killing time reading and hoping it's an easy patch up since several of us who went after it encountered the same bug.

Considering the crashes, the absent features, the lengthy build time for the Ark and the absent BFE tools - I'll pass for now.
My world was corrupted so I'd have to start over regardless. I don't see myself grind for a week just to spend 2 weeks waiting on the Ark.

If I have to cheat to be able to play the game at all, then I really don't see the point in the first place. But thats just me =P
I will abuse all the in-game mechanics, but I'm not gonna use third party tools or whatnot.

Since it's in glacial development, I'm completely fine with taking a flamethrower to things.

I'm giving it an try, though I'm with Danjal on this. I did not reset my game, so we'll see if I get the crash. Probably won't be until Saturday that I can even play enough to start building the Ark however.
Chances are good that, come Monday, I'll be back to not playing.

I'll wait until the main branch update is released. I don't love GODUS enough to play opt in but I do appreciate them releasing this early on opt in.

Slightly nervous given I had to wind back to optout to get a functioning game after the last optin update. I'll probably give it a go however I've zero interest in the balance editor so that alone would not be a reason for me to wait on optout.

At first, I was just waiting for the BFE so I could actually play the game rather than run it in the background. Now, I'm waiting because it is typical opt-in with all the corrupting and crashing I'd expected. I'll try Godus again once the timers are more rational (whether that's through BFE or some effort put into addressing the long waits) and there are less reports of massive crash/corrpution issues.

Nope. I'm going to sit this update out folks. I realize I'm being a terrible, awful, no good armchair critic... but when screenshots from Gmr seems to indicate Way Whey Guey Ueuy Weyworld is nothing more than a "Hey Folks! Time to do what you did in Homeworld! Only this time do it in this little MS Paint oval 22cans drew last night! This time, you will be assisted by zen-like and delicious cards that are more or less copy/pasted from previous cards" it just makes my face full of sad. I've lost all desire to play this game. Wake me up when this old dog does a new trick. EDIT: EGADS! I have been notified, enlightened if you will, that these delicious little orbs of "color within the lines, within the lines" are, in fact, a drastic infusion of "strategy". Let me know how that strategy goes. I have my guess ready. EDIT 2: As far as 22cans penchant for "keeping things real" goes, I thought this site was interesting: Irrigation

Unit and upgrade selection and unit group positioning? Naaah, all about that base placement!

Ofcourse its all about base placement - moving it too close means you can only fit in so many resource collectors, too far away and the spend too much time travelling. And since your income determines how much units you can field in an as short a time as possible, the position of your base ultimately determines whether you can field enough units to overcome your opponent before they get too strong!

Well you still need all of the other things, but without proper base placement it all falls apart.

I'll try Godus again once the timers are more rational (whether that's through BFE or some effort put into addressing the long waits) and there are less reports of massive crash/corrpution issues. I am on the opt-in branch, because for a while I was keenly interested in getting an early taste of experimental/rough features. And filing lots of bugs to "help" out development. But I got pretty soured on that after the opt-ins dried up & a few bugs were closed with form letters about iOS. And I don't mind restarting, or at least I didn't, it's just gonna take me so goddamned long to even get to the new content this time around I don't think it's worth it. Honestly, I'm still really hoping that 22cans fixes the waiting themselves; I guess the BFE is a workable stop-gap but I'm pessimistic about its use as an ... avenue for feedback? Whatever it's supposed to be for.
