I think we should write some Peter Molyneux inspired Godus poetry for this new thread. (tasteful, of course)
My inspiration will be this quote:
""My dream is to have an experience where casual gamers and pro gamers can play together." -Peter Molyneux-

Hmm, now I can't choose, maybe this quote should be my muse.
"The free-to-play mechanic was so dominant that it obscured all the fantastic work they did. It was like a horrible odour."
-Peter Molynuex, the Creator of Godus.

I guess I should stop abbreviating Peter Molyneux as PM so it more accurately reflects how much we discuss Peter Molyneux's work. Peter Molyneux.

Is it weird that I feel more emotionally invested in these boards than GODUS? true story, I check these boards every couple of days. I deleted GODUS ages ago and have no intention of installing it again until they come back to the PC focus (and honestly I'll be surprised if that actually does happen)

Two days ago I started working on an expansion beacon. The timer said 12 hours something. Now it's down to 1 hour 36 minutes. Yippikayay.

I think it's really unfair the mobile guys get to p̶a̶y̶ invest to bypass these delicious p̶a̶y̶w̶a̶l̶l̶s̶ expansion beacons and us sorry PC folk are stuck not being able to s̶p̶e̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶e̶y̶ invest in well designed, non-artificial, r̶o̶a̶d̶b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶s̶ deep gaming mechanics that encourage c̶o̶m̶p̶u̶l̶s̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶s̶p̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ investing. On the bright side, while you wait for that b̶l̶a̶n̶t̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶F̶2̶P̶ ̶m̶e̶c̶h̶a̶n̶i̶c̶ invest-able hobby to complete, you could write a zen-like sonnet about Peter Molyneux, the head of the 22Cans Studio.

Apparently this timer takes about 3.5 times as long as it says, because of the people having to go up and down the mountain all the time to rest. Their legs must be enormous by now. By the way, before I started on the beacon I raised a ton of land in order to build some houses around the beacon to prevent exactly this, turns out it's not possible to build houses on the mountain.

I ran into the same issue. The way 22Cans designed the different abodes to be gated to various elevations forces you to confront those timers from a distance instead of building houses on the same level in nearly every case further along in the game. This... inconvenience is either a fundamentally flawed design concept... or a carefully crafted hurdle schemata suited for some purpose... I can't, quite, decide what that purpose is, though I am developing an urge to reach for my wallet. Maybe I'll have some potato salad instead.

Only 58 minutes left on the timer. I don't think they're gonna make it before we have to leave.

your posts make me feel like time is slowing down. It must be so much worse actually playing it. Is the waiting delicious or do you feel crucified? Is this the longest timer there is?

I got it, eventually. Now I have a new even longer one. But I'm not playing. I'll see how far it got when/if I start the game up again.

I swear, I nearly wanted to harm my precious computer every time a Godus timer lied to me. Yet another reason on a long list as to why I had to step away and uninstall it. And this upcoming Settlement update better set a few things straight, or I won't be playing it anytime soon this year.
