Two weeks before xmas they decided that the spam was out of hand but that the web guys would deal with it in the new year, they then decided that they would leave the forums and several other official routes unmanned over what you'd have thought should be their coining it in time. I thought about that too; this is that rare period of the year when people have lots of free time and buy lots of things. You'd think it'd be an opportune moment for supporting the game, because of IAP and "holiday falsh sales" - to close up shop for at least two weeks (although, with the early wind-down and slow return, it will realistically amount to about a month) without any support staff is just baffling. However, as we all are aware, behavior like this is nothing new to 22cans. It's one of the oddest, most peculiarly managed companies I've dealt with, and I've personally been privileged to work with some strange management and company policies. I still can't get over Peter's uncanny personality and managerial similarities to a previous manager of mine, and the parallels of the whole 22cans/Godus project to the company/project he managed; it didn't end well for anyone, but we (the employees) learned much from it.

My pc game is at a standstill. Maxed out in homeworld and weyworld, nothing to do except collect belief. I do have collection shrines collecting ore and crops but since as I understand it the belief collection ones are number restricted and stupidlly expensive I've been collecting belief manually but am now bored with that. Already?

Not sure I get the already... Sarcasm notwithstanding. We have not had a pc update in 3 weeks or so, no new cards, no new voyages... I'm only surprised I managed to max out BEFORE they forced a reset on us.

Yeah... just taking a quick peek at the Godus Facebook page leads me to believe that the PC version wont be getting its promised attention any time soon. I'm guessing we're in for yet another round of "Oh, sorry Steam people, until we fix the mobile stuff we broke when we fixed the other mobile stuff we broke, the PC sprint will be on hold <cite low man power> <cite iteration stuff> <cite multiple role devs who have no time for doing things> Something is borked, and the fruitpad denizens are El Furioso.
Also. I wonder if Aynen has a reason to be so unreasonably supportive of Peters motives on the Steam forums, even after George and Matthew left. Either he knows something we don't... or knows even less and is being completely disingenuous. What I can't figure out, in either case, is how he can speak with such confidence right after Peter pulled the rug right out from under the former CM team. It's awe inspiring.

In terms of the mods I just think its par for the course that they are overly optimistic about GODUS. After all if there is no GODUS then what is the value of what they have done? If GODUS goes down, they go down with it.
In terms of Facebook I went and had a look there yesterday and I was struck by how many mobile players were there complaining about the game. Obviously mobile GODUS like PC GODUS is unstable and losing saves, not delivering gems, etc. Its just more evidence for how sloppy 22Cans are with their development. If they are going to keep developing GODUS they need to wake up and face up to what has been a stability debacle. The first step to fixing this is changing the way saves are handled. They need to give PC players some control over saving the game, not sure what they do for mobile.

Is the 22cans.com site working for anyone else? I can't seem to get it to load, I keep getting a "The connection has timed out" message. I was going to archive all my suggestion posts from the forum, but it's persisted for a few hours now. Very peculiar.

Down for me as well. Maybe they decided to clear out all the spam.

Down for me as well. Maybe they decided to clear out all the spam. I'm pretty certain they wouldn't need to take the whole site down for that, though. I assume that the server went down and nobody is around to reset it, or there's a localized outage. Those are the most likely scenarios. Or... Maybe they're experiencing high volume traffic (doubtful), or someone is DDoS attacking them (plausible), or maybe the Domain Host put them on a temporary probation (possible, given all the spam they've been hit with recently). But without knowing how long it's been returning that message, I can't really guess with any certainty. Hopefully it's back up tomorrow, or a Dev responds... otherwise, speculation will commence.

Last night I couldn't get on the site at all, but today it's back up, but not the forums. When I checked as of 4:10 PM CST - 22Cans Official Forum : "The forums are temporarily disabled. Please check back soon!"

22cans not functionally in business after Peter loses interest... Who is surprised?

The team has probably been put to work on the Trail website.
Speaking of which, it's been over a month since that particular cat got let out of the bag and we seem to be no closer to having any official announcement about what's going on. PM's loss of interest in Godus has been abrupt and absolute. Maybe he should sell Godus to a different developer.

It just occurred to me that with the 22cans forums offline and the steam forums abandoned (largely because of neglect and some poorly considered moderation) this has become the de facto official forum for GODUS. Long may it continue.

So, show of hands. Who saw this coming when George announced his departure from 22cans and the already decreased activity on behalf of the CMs preceeding this event?
*raises hand*
Guess the claim that a team would be kept to finish up Godus was just another token promise regarding technical details? Not that I'm particularly surprised...

*raises hand* We did predict something along those lines. Luckily my other prediction hasn't born true... yet. But there's still the potentiality.
The 22cans website was down for almost a week, with no notice or replies from support. Mostly because 22cans tends to treat the holiday season as a time to be extremely remiss (read: lax and unprofessional) in thier duties. Having Matt and George leave at that time certainly didn't help (though I can't blame them for finally disassociating themsleves).
It's been back up for a few days - citing serever isssues - but the forum has been down since then for "cleaning and maintenance" due to the inundation of spam. Glad they're finally addressing it now that they've recovered from egg-nogg hangovers and Molyneux's moral boost announcement (sarcasm). But how spam got past security and verification is beyond me, I thought signing up for an account had a verification process - since many players had/have waited days or weeks for issuance of account access; so, my assumption is that the spam was propagated either by a lax in security, disgruntled users, or 22cans got hacked... by disgruntled users.
A bit of speculation on my part, but it's par for the course.
Reap what you sow.
Glad that Moo has been engaged with us here the whole time though. Looking forward to see where he might take things.
