I wish they would just get it over with, at this point its just waiting for the inevitable "Release", with the probable media flood, once its all over (hopefully) we'll all be able to remove one god awful game from out libraries.

I have mixed feelings about that because it might also mean this community will collapse.

Maybe we we'll be able to move onto Universim if that is going to be any good.

For anyone who's curious, I put together a quick list of where ex-staffers have moved to.

I'm starting to think Peter is largely responsible for Godus current state, and if he had left before, Godus would have turned out much better.

I gave Peter the benefit of the thought, since how can one man screw over 21 people, and be responsible for everything bad that happened to Godus, now I see that yeah, Peter is the root of all problems.

What was it that led you to that conclusion? Most of what has happend can directly be linked to him, from the promises to the descisions 22cans makes, I think people just don't want to disagree with him, or maybe they just don't have the experience to do any better. That is probably why he want inexpedience people working with him, since they aren't going to second guess him. We can't have any direct line to the developers because of Peter, they can't change anything about Godus without his say so. I gave him the benefit of the doubt*, because he was involved with B&W and Fable, but I can see that if he's given free reign and no one to keep him in check, he makes a Godus.

That could turn into a phrase. When someone fucks up, "oh, he made a godus".

Yeah its the george lucas principal. If you listen to your own hype for too long. Even you start to believe it yourself. Then you start to surround yourself with only people that agree with you, or who are powerless to object. Then you go off to create what is to be your master work, your magnum opus, unaware that you are walking directly into failures cold embrace.

I have a fabulous idear how to get a huge turnout for the latest Godus Community Competition. Have the Grand Prize be the ability for the winner to ban the Mod of their choice from the Godus Steam Forums for a month. I have a feeling there would be a decent turnout. Just a hunch.

I would have commented to say "shouldn't you give a us a few more tools to be creative with first" but they banned me for having an opinion counter to theirs. A creative competition is a great idea but it's an insult to suggest one in a game designed to beat the creativity out of you.

As much as I'd like to consider that potentially destructive to a community...the catharsis offered to the community - especially if they were allowed to offer a libelous reason for the banning - would make the turnout to this event surpass the potential of anything else. Plus there's no way for 22cans to alienate their community any more than if they just replaced Godus.exe with HelloWorld.exe. THAT is how bad 22cans has let their community management get. Again, if 22cans were trying to make their community hostile, they've probably succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.

I see it as something similar to an unpopular boss renting a dunk-tank that they personally man to let his employees blow off steam at the company party. Nothing sinister or destructive. Not like anyone would miss either of the mods for a month, and not like the other couldn't step in to unceremoniously shuffle everything down to the off-topic section.
