Mein Gott! Erm, I mean : Good God! I have to play Fallout 3 now until the release of this... I will be playing Fallout 3 this weekend and then New Vegas over the next couple weeks in preparation to the E3 reveal. It's an exciting time to be a Fallout fan.

The USS Constitution "Old Ironsides" appears to have survived the war... and has a few upgrades, apparently.

It looks like they are really hitting the nostalgia button with this iconic image of Bunker Hill Monument, reminiscent of the Washington Monument in Fallout 3;

I'm so emotional, and it's freaking me out. I've never had a response like this before, and I think it's because of the personal connection I have to that region.
My family lives there. My ancestors were there from the early settlements, like Plymouth and Salem.
I am going to have so much enjoyment playing this.

Oh, please stop it! It hurts already! lol. Yeah, sorry about that. A moment of weakness, unexpected emotional response - the nostalgia mixed with personal connections reduced a 40 yr old man into a whimpering child. Apparently I feel comfortable enough with this group to share it.

When I think of being able to walk through my own village in an apocalyptic state, I get goose bumps as well. I really envy you, mate!

It's funny because it's true; I actually have several ancestors that were accused as witches, both as a relative of my ancestor or directly. Pretty cool, and sad when you think about it.I have visited some of their grave sites in Salem and the surrounding area - very humbling. Now the question is... shall I wait for the GOTY edition... <evilface> I can't wait for that either, or the DLC. I am still trying to figure out how the "OH HAI THERE" image relates and what it means; but I'm certain it's a DLC reference. Salem would be a great DLC, so would the Bath Ironworks in Maine (it's close enough to Mass border to be relevant). Or maybe it has something to do with The Institute and the Android rebellion. So much to speculate until E3.

I've been meaning to go back and tour the Lovecraft related sights. There's even an old Cafe in Salem and a bar in Lowell he supposedly frequented in his visits. I hope they do some Lovecraft nods... Or, maybe it's a good opportunity for me to try my hand at doing mods... ;D

maybe, but I haven't found anything tangible. It could just be innocent humor too. "Oh hai" is lolspeak, for "oh, hi" obviously. There are tons of memes with "Oh Hai There", so there's that. I plan to dig more when I get home tonight. Someone else may have already broken it, but I don't know if anyone is interested, or even suspect it's a hidden clue.

Hai can also mean "ashes" in Japanese.

Hai can also mean "ashes" in Japanese. I thought they used that word as an acknowledgement. Hai!

Let's just say there are several words pronounced "Hai".

The Steam page is up to Pre-Order; Fallout 4 on SteamThere's something interesting about the tagline, in my opinion; It could just be the typical marketing speak, certainly. But I think it's at least partially going to have merit. But look at those words, " next generation of open-world gaming." This makes me suppose several things about it: - It will undoubtedly have an impressive game engine that really shows what PCs are capable of; and test the limits of that capability (imagine this in VR!).
- It most likely has a very large area covered, which means a large map and massive areas to explore.
- It's possible that the transitions could be seamless, or mostly seamless between interior and exterior; this means less wait time, less loading screens (tho with the caveat of a heavy load on most systems). A truly "Open World".
- There could potentially be a much higher level of destructible environment than ever before.
- There is potentially a complete crafting system including modifying and improvising weapons.
- A massive number of NPCs, maybe with a greater number of recruiter companions.
- A huge number of quests and side-quests, maybe even some organically created ones that change as the events unfold.
- Etc.
Why do I think these are all likely? Because of the popularity of mods to Fallout 3 and New Vegas that did many of these things. I also feel that the whole "Selling of Mods" thing was a test bed for potentially easing players into the idea of monetizing mods in preparation for the undoubtedly large number of mods this game will generate. All supposition and such, but this wording got me more excited. Time to upgrade my hardware...

GreenManGaming Fallout 4 Preorder if ordered in the next 48 hours; you get a Steam Key. www.greenmangaming.com/s/ca/en/pc/games/action/fallout-4/23% off with : 23PERC-ENTOFF-48HOUR Chances are this won't be on the Steam Summer Sale (tho maybe it will), but it;s possible it'll be on the Winter Sale. It all depends on when the release date is. So, if you're looking to buy it now, GreenmanGaming is the way to go. Or, hold out until the Steam sale to see if it's offered. Or, wait until after E3 to see if the gameplay looks good. Or, wait until official release and avoid the potential Pre-Order risk/regrets. Either way, see you around the Wasteland.
