did mandrake delete his own account, or was pushed out the door? Sundance, Mandrake and Petermolyneux all left on their own accord. No mod intervention. (except for the two posts that were moved over to this thread earlier today)

did mandrake delete his own account, or was pushed out the door? We booted nobody. We did not ban or suspend anyone. We moderated by moving some posts after already warning of doing so. They did not agree and chose to leave. We did not intend to push out, we addressed their complaints as they chose to do on an open board. If they want to come back, they are welcome to do so.

...or was pushed out the door? I don't think that Lord Ba'al or Quetesh would do something like this! Even the idea... Nah!

Seems odd they'd all drop at the same time. They must have been discussing their intentions in private... unless I missed them stating their intentions someplace.

The fewer there are that share your opinions and methods, the less confident you feel. So 1 person leaving can have a domino effect of similarly-minded people leaving too.

not sure I agree with that, i'm of the same mind as them, yet i'm still here.
seeing posts get moved around, being told to restrict opinions to certain sections, its a situation that seams all too familiar to me for some reason. So I don't blame them for leaving, there is a change in the winds around here, and its a little disconcerting.

We have been trying to keep it to a minimum but lately there have been some cases where it felt necessary. Case in point, when an admin creates a thread stating clearly in the opening post what the intention is and that posts that go against that will be moved, don't go against it and come crying that your post was moved. There's nothing weird, unexpected or unfair about that. I think the only reason you feel there is a change in the wind is because you had gotten used to the new state of the board which was basically a degredation of what we used to be. Now we are attempting to take actions to restore the board to what it used to be you see it as if we are changing the status quo while in fact we are actually trying to restore the status quo.

I would like to add that we have also been working on plans to improve the board but ironically because of the time consuming status of the board we haven't really got around to much.

I am sorry to see those that have left go, I will admit some more then others, but always sad to see people leave. I did not mean anything I said personally to anyone, but do feel that somethings were being taken to a too personal level. But that is just my personal option.

I think some people were overwhelmed by, and burned out, on the extent of constant pressure being placed on 22Cans by way of - essentially - flooding our own community. Yet other areas were not getting much attention or participation.
I certainly don't want to be in a community that restricts opinions to a particular narrative, but I can understand the desire to quell the vitriol a bit. I hope that things remain ope, and perhaps those that left will return. Their viewpoints are important, Ithinkn perhaps its that they were just occassionaly poorly placed.

I don't understand, politics and religion have the utmost relevancy at the children's birthday party. If we don't talk it over there, when will they ever learn?

I am really trying to keep this a fun place for all. I am pushing for Ba'al to lessen our Godus centric structure. Yes, this is a big change, but for instance I am making an area for some Gaming Sessions/Play Dates ( have not picked a name yet) and I have to stick it at bottom in "other games", gaming should be a main board and specific games including Godus would be sub-forums. I would like to continue to include Godus but also move towards other games.
Yes, I also know, it would be better to change our name as well, but baby steps and all that. On that note, I will be making a poll for a Play Date this Saturday. Any and all members are welcome.
...Will add link as soon as ready.

There is a difference between deleting, hiding and shuffling off to obscurity that has happened else where and forum moderation. I feel forum moderation has happened here. It is why I stay here and do not go over to steam or the official boards. If here ever got as bad as those board, and to be honest it was starting to get to the point where I dreaded seeing post by certain people and I was about to start to look to see if there was an ignore option.

(except for the two posts that were moved over to this thread earlier today) Well, that's what the man himself said: As what he felt about the drama that I missed I'm more likely to trust him than other side: Basically, we had Qetesh make that thread that did not at all state what Lord Ba'al claims, someone pro-Godus comes in and takes swipes at those who don't like it, and then when someone tries to discuss it they're hit by the moderation - same tactics used by 22cans on Steam. And knowing recent activity by Lord Ba'al, I guess my stance is with the party that left. Not that I can be arsed to leave, I'm too lazy.

My thread was very much about allowing positive posters to feel welcome. But was it about letting positive posters make others feel unwelcome? In case you think I'm trying to manipulate your emotions in any way, it's not that. I just expect genuine yes or no, not the answer your morals dictate you. And I think it'll be just fair if I post mandrake's comment on the point as he doesn't currently have an account and I suspect he feels discouraged to make one again:

No.
It is about several complaint PMs we are getting from positive posters feeling pushed out and from some of our regulars telling us of just how tired they are of having negative put in all threads.
The numbers are very swayed. I am kinda shocked in a board with over 80% negative comments anyone would complain about negative posters feeling unwelcome.
Mandrake is free to re-join, as are the rest.
