My thread was very much about allowing positive posters to feel welcome. But was it about letting positive posters make others feel unwelcome? In case you think I'm trying to manipulate your emotions in any way, it's not that. I just expect genuine yes or no, not the answer your morals dictate you. And I think it'll be just fair if I post mandrake's comment on the point as he doesn't currently have an account and I suspect he feels discouraged to make one again: Hmmm... it seems you are correct. I was sure Qetesh had posted that but it must have been elsewhere apparently. I'll let her figure that one out, it's total crap to do on mobile. As for the rest, I'm assuming that was said in PM as I haven't read it on the board anywhere. All I have seen is three sudden account deletions. It seems people have been discussing things privately, perhaps even synchronising strategies, but that is speculation on my part. None of them send me any PM to raise their concern or even just to say goodbye. Frankly I think that's a bit sad.

I'm sorry to see these guys go, and I hope they will reconsider. I can understand their frustrations but I still think these boards are a brilliant place for open discussion. The mod intervention is minimal and well-intended.
I will also admit to being one of the users who, a few months ago, sent Ba'al a PM requesting that he keep an eye on certain threads because they were starting to stray off-topic in a way that was detrimental to the conversation. It seemed that any recent grievance against 22Cans (an unlikely claim, an unanswered question, a questionable mod action on Steam, etc.) would get brought into every discussion and repeated at every opportunity, until all the threads started to look the same. If I was someone at 22Cans, I would not feel inclined to participate in those threads. In fact, I myself didn't feel inclined to participate in those threads, and I say that as a community member who regularly bitches about Godus.
Echo chambers are boring and unhealthy.

I'm sad to lose our brothers in arms. I'm not sure why it has to be so black and white for some people and by that I mean if someone questions how they are participating in the discussion they suddenly quit in disgust. Anyway I was finding there was a bit much echo going on too; If you are going to write something at least try and say something new about the topic.
Anyway I cant help but feel the busting up of our fraternity only aids 22Cans, the very people they are so angry against. We are stronger when we stick together and pierce 22Cans with our intellect and determination. I don't know why this occurred, we all agree on most things, some of us just want to not read the hate all the time.

The people with the most valuable feedback are people like you who don't want to read hate ALL the time. (There's nothing wrong with a good bit of hate-reading). The most constructive, useful feedback we get tends to come from people with a slightly more open point of view and that's the kind of feedback we need. I have no doubt that the guys who left just wanted the best for Godus and it's a shame that they felt strongly enough to leave. Hopefully, one day, they'll return a bit refreshed and start contributing again.

It looks like quite a lot happened last night! I feel that 'busting up' aids no one really. When things like that happen, there's no real winner. The community feels divided and we/I..just didn't want to be drawn in to a debate that tries to publicly shame and destroy credibility for no real reason other than to cause a bit of chaos. I'm not here to be bullied by people who hide behind usernames of our staff members etc - I'm here to listen, chat and deliver information to the proboards - our dedicated followers (Yeah, that's you! Even Kotaku said so!) Sure, not all of the messages are positive but that's fine. I know the project and would be pretty suspicious if they were. We've definitely got work to do and we're in the process of doing that but please, please remember this - it's not going to happen overnight! and it's probably not going to happen in the ways that predecessors planned out. (Due to new members, new techniques and such). I know I'm relatively new around here and my (and Simon's) arrival has generated a bit of buzz but we've already been made to feel welcome by many members and I'll be honest here, it was a little daunting being thrown in at the deep end! I like to think it's a learning process for everyone - devs & community members alike - it's a relatively young community and it's still finding it's feet. Lord Ba'al & Qetesh are doing a great job and we're extremely grateful to be a part of the fair and honest ship that is sailing here. I'll not rock the boat any further. Pirates are still cool, right? I've got sea based puns in my head now. Let's all get back to discussing, sharing and talking about everything without linking private social media accounts, eh?

And who was it that said that total off-topic is too much? I am an Admin and I am putting this up all over the forum because of how our board is structured.

So the admin can break own rules? Look at you go.
Also, can't you just place an announcement or something? Those can be global.

Our announcement sections tends to go mostly overlooked. Due to short notice on this one, I wanted to make sure active boards had a notice on them. As we re-work the boards it will get easier for global announcements. Now, I am off topic, so I am done with on here. Please feel free to PM if you wish to continue your beat down upon me.

If there was a dispute between different groups it was because they had a different understanding about how to engage in discussion. I don't think anybody cares if you pop into a discussion and say "hey look at this thing over there" as long as you do it with good intentions.

What the hell is the topic of this thread anyway?

there is no topic, its just a dumping ground for all the posts that the moderators feel posts should be moved to when they are off-topic in some other thread.
