*tin foil hat* They have flagged all the users here to get it last so they can build up some "good" feedback to combat when we roll in and tear it up.
You'll notice Muir already had a positive review standing by to post ASAP claiming it's everything they envisioned Godus would be.
He's just doing his job of Judas goat - just smile and offer a rag to help polish his glasses clean again.
Welcome, everyone, to the "Combat Update"!

mea culpas while obviously going off to work on something else.
Ship out another title to avoid bad reviews and bad press
End up with poor reviews anyways as in this "sprint" to try and tick off boxes...even a toadie moderator new to the game industry can recognise how...well, even though they try to make a grand claim about how Sculptcraft is even more Godus than what Godus turned out to be, Muir still has to note how the game is more RTS than a god game - which is reflected in the reviews as well:
Godus: 33% Godus Wars: 40%
End up with bad press because nobody there at 22cans knows what they're doing because of the difference between the public narrative and internal narrative
22clownshoes: "Fixing" Early Access mistakes by running to another Early Access title
So that really, in light of Peter's claims of wanting to know what the community thinks, makes me wonder how they thought this would be received:
Was there supposed to have been anything positive by this whole Godus Wars thing or was it 100% F*** You?
Lets take a look at the announcement:
"In 2015, We had taken the mobile build as far as we wanted to take it at that particular point. The mobile build has been successful, editor picked and downloaded millions of times and had over 250,000 4 star or higher reviews."
OH, DAMN! So much for the "more content is being worked on" claims to the mobile users, who were apparently soundly lied to for about a year.
"We’ve always loved the landscape forming, changing and sculpting but quickly realised that it’s slightly more uncomfortable to do a lot of sculpting with a mouse. Really what it lacked was brutality, was war, was the ability to take on challenge and use your god powers and sculpting powers to fight, war and battle. And that’s where our initial concept of Wars started."
Because the gameplay/interplay nears on horrible...add combat to make it worse as artificial "challenge"? Did Peter Fecking Molyneux just say something that unbelievably goddamn stupid?
"We said this simple thing - “Why don't we change Godus into a RTS style game with God-game capabilities and landscape modification, a RTS game with a huge amount of variation and power, the ability to approach each battle in a different way?”
More like "how can we tick more boxes from the Kickstarter on the cheap and in as bad taste as possible?"
The rest is, unfortunately, PM waffle. At least when I wall of text there might eventually be a point...oh! Lovely, he's provided one!
"What we’ve ended up with is a true mix of a god game and a RTS with the ability to build your own deck of powers and buffs."More like this is 22cans' cop-out from reinventing the god game genre into an RTS and insisting that everyone's going to give you the same suckarse responses Muir did.
"We’ve got all sorts of surprises in the game. Try playing around with the globe. See what happens. We really wanted to make this brutal, we wanted to make it funny and we wanted to make it exciting. I feel we’ve really done that and I can’t wait to see what the community thinks."
Experienced people would have told you what the community's reaction would be, especially after going silent after a while.
While surrounding yourself with enthusiastic yes-men would result in something...well, Godus Wars.
I have a feeling we all know what the community thinks, and how 22cans doesn't really give a shit, because they have been trying to pass this as a "Combat Update" for some time and then made it another Early Access title (which means...Godus has really been abandoned in all that time!) Now that means there will be definitely some "excitement" and "funny" on the way...
...especially when the press takes a moment to note that, again, 22cans have missed "god game genre":
Godus Cow Clicker
Godus RTS
Godus Business Sim
Godus FPS
Godus Action-RPG (PM promises this one 'open world' then apologises for how it is 'on rails')
Godus Crush
Godus the Spreadsheet
Godus 6dof
Godus the Toiler Paper
By that time, 22cans will have no other option than to actually give Muir a reason to say: "Wow, so this is that god game thing everyone was talking about!"
Godus the God Game
Just eight more attempts to go...
