Well, at least we now know how 22Cans plan to get around being faced with admitting they failed to deliver what they promised with Godus....
They add it in a much smaller and limited scope to Godus Wars and insist that's delivering on what they sold everyone.

OH I missed that part. *Golf clap* well done on trying to clean the slate. I am sure Aynen will be busy clearing out post as, "That is not Godus WAR related." You'll notice the Godus War discussion forums have no actual area for General discussion, there's a range of feedback then there's 'Off-topic'.

6 minutes, that's fairly quick I hope you guys enjoy this game! Any idea on when in the next 24 hours it will become available for backers?

Should already be in your Steam library if you have Godus on your Steam account. It hasn't done so yet. Consider yourself fortunate then. Sadly those of us who received it will now help pad stats on the wide scale adoption of Godus Wars.

*tin foil hat* They have flagged all the users here to get it last so they can build up some "good" feedback to combat when we roll in and tear it up.

We're noticing that it's not arriving in everyone's library simultaniously. We suspect it may have something to do with how Steam updates it's shop across the globe. We'll keep a close eye on it, if it doesn't change, we'll be right on it.

"Now that Godus Wars & Godus are both available as one package, we will be closing the Godus Store page and removing the higher price from sale. The discussion boards will be left untouched." So, uh, does closing the Godus Store page wipe out all the mostly negative reviews? Eh, I'll happily just copy paste my review from Godus to this attempt at putting lipstick on a pig. Funny how a quick look at the reviews shows only one by the least biased person on the planet...

Same, though unfortunately you need to play Farce-wars at least 5 minutes before you can review it, and if you just fire it up that long for the sake of reviewing, next step will be Molyneux or some rep talking to the press and saying "Sure there are a few people with very small play hours who aren't impressed. But if you look at the number of people with reasonable hours then reviews are mostly positive!".... seriously, it's the kind of thing Molyneux has twisted in the past and I highly expect Farce-Wars to be another attempt to do just that.

So, now we know. What is it with them and long silences followed by suddenly releasing a huge change, do they think its funny? What are their expectations with this tactic?
How are they allowed to launch a new title into early access before removing the previous failure?
I'm still very perplexed by their action - or, in-action, as it were - during all that time. The silence wasn't necessary, and created far too much speculation and animosity. Now we're highly skeptical of this release more so than before, simply due to the massive middle-finger of secrecy and community absence. These are not the tenants of a trustworthy company, regardless of end product.

I'll happily install and launch it, mix the volume down to zero and play a better game for an hour or so. If 22Cons thinks they're getting a clean slate then they've another thing coming

I think they get around it by rolling them out together into one, now episodic, product? It seems a little fishy to me as well. but I guess as long as Valve is getting there money they do not care about an over all small majority of their users?
Honestly I can not understand why 22cans feel they have to hide this stuff. They need something beyond yes men testing this and giving feedback. There are people on this boards that I think would offer an honest option given a chance to help.

They were hiding it for the same reason they did the mobile launch. They knew they'd be torn a new one by the community which would affect the reviews

I can 100% confirm earlier speculation and state that Godus Wars is indeed made in Unity. 'Godus included' involves the sub-directory of the Unity project where they've rammed the old Godus client that gets initiated if you decide you want to play Godus instead.
So it's not even a branch off of Godus or some attempt to take what they had with Godus and make two distinct versions... this is something 22Cans have had their B-Team throw together in Unity in the time Godus development has been dead and buried, by just ramming Godus into it they can then attempt to try to bury Godus and try to forget.

Honestly if they do dump Godus and just keep working on Godus Wars and try to get some of what they promised into it. I have no problem. Of course I am one of the people that wanted a more original Populous style games and maybe this will give it to me.

Yeah, I can only say that from the looks of it, it is an improvement.
Ditching Godus in favour of the unity-based Godus-wars is the best decision they've made yet. Not that they've set that bar particularly high. Any rational decision would be their best yet.
Opting for the marmalade engine was a terrible decision and may be one of the big reasons the Godus project was a failure imho. Unfortunately it's still not in my account so I can't really say if the game is any good. I'm hoping it appears soon, as I have to leave in 90 minutes. Is there anything I can do to trigger this process? I do see Godus Wars in the store, and am able to buy it if that helps.
I have to say the trailer is a bit meh. That surprises me, because the trailer of the original Godus was actually good.
