Which ones? I can tell you, the devs do not use straw accounts.

No, Jackd is just a dumba$$ kid. He argued with me for days that 22Cans was a sole trader operation run and financed by Peter. Eventually he accepted it was a limited company...
JamesM is a strange one, I think he's just a nice guy who sees the positive in absolutely everything. The sort of guy who if he lost both legs in a RTA would still be happy because now he could realise his dream of sell his shoes on ebay.

Have you checked his background? He want's to be a games developer Yes, I knew that to be the case, he made mention of it enough times early on to stick. If you wanted to be a dev though, 22Cans forum mod isn't going to get your foot in the door, talent and demo work will. I won't say anything personally negative about Muir (plenty to say about his role as a 22cans mod though), just to say that if you follow his google + or facebook links to the linked games review blog or website, they are aborted attempts at being something. Also, they don't showcase any development skills or demo work. If it were me, I'd be spending time making sure projects I started came to life and didn't die the anaemic deaths they appeared to have. Yeah, JamesM is just a nice guy, I'll have words with anybody who give's him a hard time for just being positive and pleasant. He's not all over the shop, he isn't a fan boy, he's just a pleasant guy who picked a crappy project to follow,

I don't know anything about is train2game course but maybe he's not far enough into it to be at the showcase level yet.

As for Matt, I think he was the biggest disappointment although now knowing he was doing it unpaid hoping to get a job in the long term makes sense. Having said that, it was without doubt a great opportunity for him to really make a mark by turning the community around. That would have looked great on his CV, 22Can's job or not! Who know, maybe Peter never gave him the mandate to actually do the job, I get the feeling Sam never had the authority he needed... It was just in one of the local papers yesterday "Beware of people who call themselves rock stars who don't belong to a band as they seldom live up to their self proclamation".
Well said, I was angry at him (matt), but now feel sorry for him, exactly because the forum and the toxic steam forum were (are) a problem begging for some really skilful community management. CV shine-up for sure. Sam I came round to quite liking as I began to appreciate what he seemed to be up against.

I wonder if I am one of the three? (Tulipone). It is so pointless to be that negative they (22Cans) have an excuse not to respond - I'd like to think positive encouragement was the way forward - okay, hat didn't work out so well. I don't get the role of Augurs and have no idea who they may be. If, as they claim, they are not staff then their role is irrelevant and they just moderate. No, you are not one of them. Muir is one of them. The other two are Jacdk and JamesM.
I remember back from Kickstarter that their have been a lot of devs, friends and family members of devs posting comments.
I don't think it is pointless to be negative. We have been extremly positive in the beginning. If you read my posts you can see that even i made suggestions and positive posts. But i soon realised that they lied to us. I remember the first bomb - DeNa - when we asked what it means. We never got a real answer. After kickstarter i read almost all of Peters interviews I could find and i was shocked. In every interview he talked about monetisation and f2p and how good the godgames fit with f2p. But any question we asked 22cans was blocked. Best thing and the point in time when i went really into warmode was the video weather update with the postit. I don't know excactly why but i thought you don't respect us so i don't have to respect you. Backers had a lot of questions at this time and the only answer came on a postit. 1 minute about the thing people wanted answers for and 2 minutes about the weather.

Oh, I didn't say it was pointless to be negative. Indeed without critique something bad is likely never to improve. I suspected that the negativity was a possible excuse 22Cans would use to quit/continue not updating us.
I can be philosophical over the cash I paid to the project, it was pretty minimal. If I had paid what others have, I suspect I would not have been constantly bleating about wanting more communication and now understand why some have gone for the jugular.
I wonder how much would change if we got an update and were shown a project time line. They do have a time line with KPIs mapped out? Right?

I am going to go back to the metaphor about the waitress. If I get bad service and I still leave a tip, I am promoting bad service. If I complain to management it is not because I am a whiner, it is because I want there to be consequences for said bad services. If my complaint is not heard the second, third and fourth times I come back, I will get more and more vocal about it. My hope is not to shut down that restaurant but to make the issue creating the bad service is handled. Whether it was the bad waitress, the bad management or the uncaring owner. I really don't care who caused it, I just want good service.

In the US where the tipping culture requires 20% where as in the UK, the tipping culture is not as developed and is usually 10%, probably less, rarely more.
I used to hate tipping 20% when on holiday in the states! until I realised that the service in the USA is generally far far better than it is here. I'm happy to pay it now and almost resent the shit and surly service we have in UK.
I don't tip in UK if the service is bad and don't go back to restaurant. Sooner or later and if everyone agrees, it closes. Doesn't do the owner much good, nor the staff nor me when I'm hungry.
22Cans implicitly told us to piss off by ignoring us, even though the updates and involvement were part of the Kickstarter deal. Looks like both of our methods were flawed and didn't work. Just hoping that the Idol relevant ions bear fruit.

Sure, i knew they would use it as excuse to quit talking to us. But i also knew it hasn't been that much better before and i knew if we didn't try to make them clear what we think about all this they would later tell us we wanted it like this.

Looks like both of our methods were flawed and didn't work. Just hoping that the Idol relevant ions bear fruit. Amen. I worked in the business for a decade. Tipping is still 15 if good and 18 if great. Whoever told you 20 is selling you a bill of goods. I also have spent half my time in NL which is 10 if happy and none if , well, if you don't want to, because they get paid normal rates anyway. Overall, the service here does not even COMPARE to US places. I have traveled quite a bit too. Mexico, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands.......several Carribean Places and countless places around USA. Nowhere else even COMPARES. Tipping means To Insure Proper Service. I have bartended, waitressed, hostessed and bussed in my youthful years. The system works, the only ones it does not work for are crappy servers. The reason why is because the people are already getting PAID and so if they want incentive do they have to excel, or even be nice if they still get paid by not doing so? I made Hella money in the field because I learned to love relating to people and making them Happy. This is what 22cans has not learned. You don't just need to get paid, you need to make your people happy. In the end if you not only do what is required but also learn to relate to your people and make them happy, then you will excel in ways you might never imagine.
