Aynen came pretty close with me at one time. There are certain things about that speech that are hard to deny.

Which post on that thread were you referring to? Post by high-level backer that says "game is good so far".

I wonder if I am one of the three? (Tulipone). It is so pointless to be that negative they (22Cans) have an excuse not to respond - I'd like to think positive encouragement was the way forward - okay, hat didn't work out so well. I don't get the role of Augurs and have no idea who they may be. If, as they claim, they are not staff then their role is irrelevant and they just moderate. I am quite disappointed that I get from wondering if I was stupidly supporting a project to my bitter recent snipes at 22Cans. They make me mad that what I backed on Kickstarter was totally binned and ignored but it is time to ease up and move on.

There seems to be a lot of secretly happy people on Steam right now. It's weird that most their posts seem like trolling.

I didn't guess that I could possibly think less of 22can efforts and actions. I was horribly, horribly wrong.

People are free to be positive - what a lot of the 'positive' posters on the Steam forum seem unable to do is be positive without denigrating others.
Generally, if you start insulting people, you've already lost the argument.
e.g. off one of the recent threads
"I'm not one of the unwashed masses that see's a game and is not compulsivly required to flame anybody that likes it in it's current state"
I mean there are posters like DolmotheDouglas who manage to be positive without hurling insults everywhere. I think he might be insane though, judging from his posts.

You have no idea how hard it is to be positive when all your arguments get disregarded with the insults(Yes, they are insults) That you are either a fanboy or an employee. I may have lost the argument, but name calling feels so much better than winning this argument anyway.

I don't know if you're that person but I used that word yesterday on the steam forum when someone attacked my goodwill poll. My action was uncalled for and inaccurate.

Yeah, I was attacking your poll, so I mostly deserved to be called a name, I just greatly detest that one(I find it as a way to completely disregard someone else's opinions without actually debating them) But you at least made a logical reply about the poll. The next guy did not.
I probably should post more often, but I end up just ignoring most of the negative threads, and find myself exploding at one unlucky person. That person was you.
So I apologize as well at my attack on your poll. I probably could have been a little more civil to you. The next guy didn't deserve civil though, so I might be banned on steam for a bit, but as I only use steam for Godus... I don't mind so much.

At least you came over here to talk about it which says a lot about you. I hope you won't view this forum as merely a place to be angry. There is plenty of room here for positivity, in fact I welcome it. But whether you're positive or negative about something you better be willing to receive rebuttals to your posts coz that's what the forum is about. I just responded to your post on steam by the way.

Wow. That thread is a pretty horrible reflection of the way in which fans of Godus might choose to defend their hobby...

I think he might be insane though, judging from his posts. This is hilarious because of it's ironic hypocrisy and brash, sweeping generalization. Especially when he goes on to describe a few things those "unwashed masses" also complain about. Why was he/she compelled to flame those that disagree with his/her views? Perhaps he/she should pause and think before he/she types; save him/herself from seeming foolish. I don't know, maybe he/she was being purposely facetious, or not, but I find these kind of posts just as negative as those posts this individual is complaining about. Obvious troll is obvious. And never helpful.

I don't think it's trolling, really. I understand why people who don't particularly object to Godus feel so compelled to jump in and aggressively defend 22Cans - with so much negativity in the reviews and unhappiness in the community in general, they probably feel like they're supporting the underdog. Except 22Cans isn't the underdog in this scenario, and really doesn't need a white knight. In fact, the aggressive petulence of the pro-Godus supporters can only be hurting their cause (and is probably why so many pro-Godus posters get dismissed as probable associates of 22Cans, however unfair that may be).
22Cans have steamed on full-speed-ahead with their mobile-oriented design decisions, P2W mechanics and tween-appeal, despite extreme reactions from the majority of the community. And while those active on the forums are repeatedly dismissed as a 'vocal minority', I think the Steam game reviews speak for the rest of the paying customers. 22Cans are so thick-skinned, not a single word of community feedback has gotten through to them. Therefore I think it's safe to say they don't need to be defended from all the horrible meanies who just don't GET it or whatever.
The other thing I noticed is people trying to defend George and Matthew, which is exactly what 22Cans was hoping for. Put a couple of nice people in the community, let them be the bearers of crappy news, let them take the brunt of the negative feedback, then let the white kinghts ride in to heroically defend them because they are such nice guys. Any time 22Cans gets attacked, someone leaps in with "stop blaming Matthew and George!". No one is blaming Matthew and George, and any criticism apparently levelled them is obviously intended for 22Cans. If more people would realise that, maybe fewer catfights would break out.

I really think Muir should be replaced as a Steam mod or at least given a good talking to. He can be ok when on a short lead but every so often he gets too full of himself and starts applying his ridiculous interpretation of the steam rules. steamcommunity.com/app/232810/discussions/0/540743212690278235/#p3So if you post a positive comment on a negative thread that's fine, negative comments on a positive thread and the mods intervene. These positive people are either trolls or very simple. I doubt they are 22Cans employees/agents.

These positive people are either trolls or very simple. I doubt they are 22Cans employees/agents. I concur. Nothing on that thread was overly negative, and muir saying that one user misquoting angry being a 'typing mistake" is wrong since he would have had to specifically select those two letters for deletion, thus changing angry's post and intentions entirely. It may not be in the steam rules directly, but it wouldn't fly in any formal argument and would be outright dismissed by any legal official or representative. As well as stating that free speech means that positive feedback is always allowed, but no one is allowed to discuss the negatives with the people who see the good. Those have to go in their own thread which soon get locked or moved or (most recently) merged into a huge confusing jumble.
