I would think if someone said "I wish the game would have more clicking involved", they are being a troll and need to be ignored and not fed. The other is borderline trollish and think they should be avoided as well. The sad thing is I am not sure I can think of a positive think to say about the game that you can discuss. I think the artwork is beautiful. That's my one big positive about Godus right now. I hope they continually add to it too.

Yup, I agree the artwork & style are both good. I think sculpting itself (with bonus layers) isn't in too bad of a place right now. I think early game pacing is pretty decent at the moment, up to the obvious bad roadblocks of long waiting times and huge numbers of stickers. So yeah there is some stuff about the game that's good, the actual bit where I have enough belief and enough space to build new houses is actually pretty okay, it's just that's only 5-10% of the gameplay and the rest isn't so hot right now.

The moderators are sick of hearing us being negative and get over-excited when a new poster comes on to gush about the game. Try this... When a new poster comes along who is all happy the pappy with the game, let him post and don't respond. See how much they enjoy being the only one talking on the forum. Then watch as over time their positive posts slowly turn more negative until they finally join the dark side. When someone comes on and complements the development team for how quickly this game is being developed (and doesn't seem sarcastic), it's hard to resist questioning that opinion. It gets even harder when the OP is a rant against the community for being so hard on the developers, which is what happened a few times back in April/May. This is sort of the tack I took with the Coming soon thread since the Settlements Update has been pointed as the linchpin for everything to change. Mentioning the "Settlement Update" without saying "is releasing tomorrow" pretty much kills all point in talking about whatever subject the thread's referencing. It's the universal answer for pretty much everything at this point, sort of like how it used to be "once we hit the pc sprint" was back in May and June, "after mobile releases" back in April, or "I've forwarded this to the development team" was back in March.

Also, I don't think being a community manager and being honest are mutually exclusive. The honest community managers out there would probably take offense at such an assertion. LIES! Being honest and being employed are mutually exclusive in much of the modern economy, sadly. Gaming communities, doubly so. Please don't read personal insult in my diatribes, corp. drone THX1138. You're just doing your job. (PS. archangel Michael is what I call anyone "lucky" enough to get the trade show whorin' gig, 'cause it means the higher ups think them's the holiest warrior in the herd;) (PSS. been there, done that. and the best part is, all the folks back at the office think your 16 hour days, getting back at it before dawn to do it all again, were a vacation. Sympathies.)

I think he was referencing your little trip to LA. And boy you are up late. Ah, I see. But, for the record, I went to LA on my own dime. I had to take off from work, I paid for my own flights, my own hotel, my own badge, my own rental car, my own food, my own parking, and so on. Attending these kinds of events is important to me but as Godus nor 22cans wasn't there I'm sure the studio would've much preferred to have me working on community stuff during that week. I wasn't there representing the studio though. Was just representing myself.

Or they took advantage of the opportunity to have wild parties at the office.

I AM the party. Could you make it rain a bit more? I saw 13thGeneral canvassing trashcans earlier. And Raspofabs can't even afford a decent scotch.
