Emerald Prophet's 'leak' thread is interesting. 22Cans must know that the solution they've gone with for combat is not likely to be terribly popular (assuming it's all true) but the community response has been curiosity and engagement rather than flamebaiting and anger. The more emotive responses are saved for the "something secret and exciting is happening - more to come!" type nothing-statement we get from the likes of Aynen and Colin. 22Cans could have taken the initiative themselves and had the opportunity for a more constructive conversation with the community, but they've missed that chance now.

And people wonder why 22cans don't post to the community any more.... I can understand your passive aggressive tone when attempting to interact with a discontent user base, however: *Looks up gillburt's Steam Godus post history *Files under "non-objective Molyneux/22Cans apologist." *Considers possible close personal association with 22Cans or their voulenteers. *Moves along wondering if you'll bring anything of meaning to the discussion.

You mean because they already have our money and have nothing else to get from us? And that's proboards' fault, not ours. I get where you're coming from but you're losing the high ground on this threat issue now. Best to just move on now What are you talking about? Show me where I threatened Aynen? Just like I said in the past, if Molyneux was on fire, I wouldn't even piss on him to put it out, is now what I am saying to Aynen, that he is akin to Georgie, a slime ball low time criminal from the game "Wolf Among Us", and wish he would end up the same. Where's the threat? Have you let the political correctness eat away at your brain so that anytime anyone mentions the words "threat", or "lets play nice", you chime in like bleating flock of sheep, "Threat is wrong...and yes we should play nice". Playing nice is what Steam forum has devolved to. Where anyone who has anything negative to say about the game was banned, and the only posts, barring most recent 2 weeks, were few and far in between requests for tech support that were responded to "we will get to it soonus".

How about you all be adults, and realize that you live in an adult world.
Don't pretend that you love everyone, and would be upset if anyone at any time, anywhere, got hurt. And if any of you say, "Yes, I do love everyone", then you are delusional, by the very definition, and any psychologist would tell you so.
It is acceptable to recognize that some people are wrong. It is acceptable to dislike or even hate those people. It is also acceptable to be happy when those people hit hard time, or something unfortunate happens to them. It is called karma, it is called human nature. It is called living in a real world.
If you don't feel glad, or feel upset that a murderer, a rapist, a child abuser gets an electric chair, something is wrong with you.
If you don't feel that a person who took advantage of you, and of tens of thousands of other people, lied to them, scammed them, took their money, banned those who voiced their opinions and presented facts unfavorable to that person or company, without profanity; if you don't feel that that person deserves karma, fate, whatever you want to call it, to come around and bite them hard on their behind, then something is wrong with you. You are what is called an apologist, and because of you, those same low life criminals will continue to abuse and take advantage of multitudes of other innocents in the future.
Further more, if you think those "people" like Simon, Molyneux, Anynen are only bad when it comes in regards to Godus, but are most upstanding individuals when it comes to their personal life, other professional interactions, you are delusional. Unless you think they have a completely split personality disorder, and they all of a sudden turn into a completely different person when they leave the office, or log off for the day, they apply the same unethical practices and treatment of people in other daily situations they encounter during their daily routines.

To sum it up.
My concern is for the tens of thousands of people who got scammed, lied to, and abused by Molyneux, Simon and Aynen, just to name a few. Those are the people I feel bad for. Those are the people who deserve sympathy, compassion and understanding.
Myleneux, Simon, and Aynen, they are in this situation willingly. They are the ones who perpetrated and allowed the scam to continue. They are they ones who abused others, and continue to do so every day. Aynen especially has the nerve to post lies as if anyone should believe him. For any of you to show understanding toward any of them, means you are psychologically brain washed, or damaged. Look up the Stockholm Symptom. It's either that, or the teachings of political correctness that has been etched into you for decades, has rendered you unable to protect the innocents and stand up for yourself.
Why do you think Aynen comes here, plays the victim, and then calls for a "polite discussion". There is nothing impolite about voicing stern opinions and presenting hard facts. Using profanity is impolite. Calling someone a profane name, is impolite, unless it actually factually applies. The reason Aynen calls played the victim and threw out "be nice", is because that's his strategy to get a reaction of of people, because that's how political correctness has conditioned them.
"Play nice" was his guise for banning anyone on Steam forums that disagreed with him, and told the history behind Godus to any potential customer. So, was he "playing nice"? Was Molyneux "being nice", when he took people's money, lied to them, scammed them, and ran off? Was Simon "playing nice", when he spoke in a verbal diarrhea of apologies and profanity at a gaming conference when describing what happened to Godus, and promising to fix the issues, then disappearing into obscurity?
Yet a lot of you here latch onto the "be nice" bull that Aynen and 22 cans have used for the last 3 years to cover up the lies. You are allowing this to happen, by the simple virtue of allowing these low time criminals (if you can call scamming people out of more than a million dollars low time), to keep on voicing the same lies we have heard for the last 3 years "we are working on it, but we can't tell you what it is".
Then you all go quite for a month, then the flock starts to bleat, a wolf comes back and tells you again "we are working on it, but we can't tell you what it is", and the flock quiets down for another month. A sheepdog comes up, sends away the wolf and tells him that he wishes the wolf gets caught in a hunter's snare and dies. What do the sheep do....?
Maybe the wolf should continue coming back, and continue to fleece you like they had. How long do you want this to go on? How many new customers should get fleeced?
But hey, if that's ok by you all, then so be it.

I simply don't feel the same way you do Drake. Sure I'd like to see 22cans lies tumble down around their ears. I'd like to see them man up and be honest, regardless of how scary that is for them and their little fanboy group. I would like to see them return their ill-gotten funding to those who they defrauded. However, I don't wish them any physical harm, or death, or any nastiness of the sort.

In fact, they caused me physical, real monetary damage (Shall I tell you how much I have to live on for a month? 59.24 pounds at current monetary rates) and then caused me psychological damage repeatedly by insulting me and trying to shift blame on their own misdeeds on me, as if calling them out on it was wrong. The only thing I did wrong for all that time connected to Godus was believing those bullshitters on their prototype video that looked way different from the shit they made, and paying them money instead on giving it to someone more competent and could make something good out of it.

We have actual proof that 22 cans are a bunch of criminal cons, scammers and liars. We are naming them such, all of which factually applies. Dozens of examples, nay hundreds of examples have been provided over the course of 3 years.
None of that is "being a dick".

I don't disagree with you on that, tho I've certainly seen worse community forums where devs still interacted despite some... intense individuals. The overall emotion here is that they could certainly have done much over the years to quell the playerbase community, but instead treat it like an awkward, pesky neighbor; they try to avoid us when its they whom are actually the oddball on the block. All we want is for them to mow their lawn once in a while, maybe a fresh coat of paint, and leash their stray dogs. They react by pulling the blinds, triple locking the door, and turning out the lights. At some point we're going to be leaving harsh notes on windshields and banging on the door. The solution has always been simple. I absolutely agree, and I love the analogy with the blinds/lights/doors!! Thing is, they are, and have been for a very long time, (and I suspect will be for a long time) in an emotional place. They see the Community as a threat to their well-being. It's like a divorce where the negotiations have turned sour. It's no longer about who had the affair in the first place, what matters is how horrible the other person is being about how we divide up the money. I believe they don't see / understand their role in all of this, all they see is a bunch of mean/rude/horrible/name calling/obnoxious/demanding oafs in the community. And that we are scary (we're not... we're customers) And every time we bark/bite/growl either at them, or each other (as this post was starting to do), it just reinforces that view in their minds. You are right, the solution is simple. So simple, it's incredible they still don't get it. But every time we get angry, it focuses them on the poorer aspects of an online community, and so validates their decision to ignore us (IMHO YMMV) I'm sure some psychologist somewhere has given it a label...

It's a nice thought, that this is all just an ex-lovers quarrel... But we've been through all that before... And it resulted in a whole bunch of nothing from 22cons.
GMR Leon and a few others at one point put out a Herculean effort to present concerns and issues in as pleasant a way as possible to the devs. He played by every one of their rules and requests. He was even in direct contact with some of them
GMR and others spent hours if not days collating issues and concerns from the user base. They created documents. Requested feedback. Even asked to be directly involved if possible...
And here we are with yet another period of unexplained silence to show for it.
I wouldn't feel safe talking to a community I totally screwed over and took advantage of either.

I appear to have touched a number of nerves. My apologies for raking up old wounds. Is there any point in collectively trying to force a closure of this project? I cannot believe there is any money left anywhere and sincerely hope that the mobile players are not still silly enough to pay to support that pile. No one has stepped up to lead anything like you're suggesting yet... If I had to make a guess I'd say that there is a good chance on something of the sort happening soon after the combat release occurs and the studio is essentially forced to address quite a few things they've been avoiding... Mostly thing like: What's next? Does the combat release bring Godus out of EA? Have Kickstarter rewards been delivered in full? Once those have been answered, or concretely avoided, I have no doubt we will see solid, legal based action.

Come on guys, there's like one rule here and it's "don't be a dick". It's funny George used to say that. But seriously I agree Crumpy. I don't wish anyone any ill will. I don't even want Peter M to go bankrupt. I do want to 22cans to be honest about what is going on and to make an honest attempt at developing the game they promised. The later is probably a lost cause now. When talking with Aynen, keep in mind he is now the only person who bothers to say anything. He might not be able to share but neither is he hiding in a foxhole. I give him credit for that. By the way it is 28 hours until I see Star Wars. Just saying.

Not that I'm condoning the behaviour but before anybody gets too offended or frustrated, remember this is the open board and as such it's bound to be rougher.
