If you have something you want to say about The Universim or Crytivo Games and you can't find any thread that's suitable to post it in you may post it here. Or you could make a thread of your own if you'd like to. If what you would like to discuss is not in regard to The Universim or Crytivo then it might be a good idea to post it in the Whatever section (off topic) of the forum instead.

Ta for the forum re-organisation!
I backed Universim on KS (for less than I would of, due to being burned by the Godus 'experience'). While it could still turn out to be vaporware, the pictures and detail in the KS updates are already looking way more impressive than Godus does. Again, a very good distinctive style.
We'll see, I suppose.

One thing I'm surprised about is that the official Universim forums are open to general public. I was able to sign up for an account no problem and I'm not a backer. Kudos to them. Having a locked off forum was one of the main reasons why I abandoned the 22Cans forum in favour of founding this delicious open to all forum.

There will be no vaporware from Crytivo games, we're working hard and making big improvements every day. I really hope you guys like the Pre-Alpha, and use the opportunity to give us feedback, as we would love to work with you guys to make this as great as possible!

Having a locked off forum was one of the main reasons why I abandoned the 22Cans forum in favour of founding this delicious open to all forum. Well, there is actually a subforum just for the backers, but since Crytivo posts most of their stuff public, be it on Twitter, facebook or the public section of their forum, there isn't much going on right now. And I think that a " reserved for" forum is in general out of use anyway. The Universim will be on steam somewhen in the future and a lot of people will be able to pay solid money for it, as well as for any other early access title. These people will or at least should be able to share their thoughts, their concerns and be a part of the development. So in the end all the people which paid money for it are in the same boat. And I just can't imagine that's it possible to differentiate between the demands of backers and steam early access customers. A thing I never understood with Godus.

What happened with Godus was that they opened up the beta way to soon after opening up the alpha which led to the alpha backers feeling cheated because they had pledged way more money and were pretty much getting the same thing as everyone else. Then they released on Steam early access very soon after opening up the beta, so then both the alpha and the beta backers felt cheated. The Steam players were getting the same thing they were getting and they got it at a bargain less than a year after the Kickstarter was funded. So I do think that there should be a differentiation between Kickstarter backers and Steam players. After all, the backers helped get the project off the ground. In the end though it all comes down to who gets what for what price. If everyone that pays the same amount gets the same stuff then all should be well. But if people are getting stuff at discount prices then shit might hit the fan. Anyway, there's a ton of discussion about all the things that didn't go down so well with 22Cans' project in the Godus section of the forum and I prefer to keep it over there. I'm hoping this new section will turn out to be a shining beacon of positivity.

After following the train wreck that was Godus I was surprised to see Universim using godus forums. What is the link between 22Cans/Godus and Cryptivo/Universim anyway?

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm here and engaged in these forums since i backed both games... and they were both pitched as god-games, which I enjoy. I believe the folks who run this forum are branching out with the dying down of Godus.

Though it still remains to be seen where the title ultimately ends up, I think The Universim's development - and forums - so far have shown a real form of transparent development that both Kickstarter and Early Access require, again adding to the contrast between good and bad examples. For one, since they have a solid core vision of what game they are making, they wouldn't have too much problem adopting community suggestions since the community would similarly know what is being aimed for and so be able to offer more apropos suggestions. Compared to some other developers, that is quite a welcome and wonderful thing.

I think that this is a fantastic way of growing this community. One of my fears with the slow death of Godus is that this community might wither and die. Adding another project means there's more of a reason to stick around.

It just came to my mind that it offers additional advantages, too. In the event that other developers from Crytivo sign up here, they can do research right the "next door" to find out how they shouldn't do it! This also applies to me, since I'm a moderator over there. No, really! It's a great opportunity. I already like this place!

Lol! That's a good point. Be sure to mention that to the Crytivo devs if you speak to any.

Is it possible for me turn off the twitter windows and replace them with links or actual text? It does look fancy when I turn off addons which block social media sites (I don't appreciate it when facebook tracks what I browse on the web and and automatically likes/shares some items). But if I keep my addon on, I see only this: imgur.com/FXCTNfwAt first I though Lord Ba'al went crazy

Anyway, I have opened a support ticket with ProBoards but I very much suspect that the answer is gonna be that if you want to see the tweets to not block them with your addon.

The response from support by the way was as I predicted. But they suggested that I could disable the auto embedding and post links to the tweets instead. That would just give page upon page of posts containing a link though. Who's gonna be bothered to open those links? So I guess the best option would be for you to disable your blocker totallytim, sorry. Perhaps there is a way you could configure that blocker so that you could add this website as an exception or that you could add twitter as a general exception and only block facebook or something like that.
